Maybe, but I still think constantly losing assistants at this rate is going to eventually bite him in the arse.

Never forget that when Saban left Michigan State to come to LSU, he sent a plane to East Lansing to bring all his assistants down to Baton Rouge. Not a single coach got on the plane. They all refused to follow him.

That's because not 1 person wants to live in Baton Rouge that wasn't born there. Especially back in the 90s.

Truth is most coaches on Saban's staff get promotions. The coordinators get head coaching job's and position coaches get coordinator jobs.

The poaching of his staff caught up to him last year when Tennessee whiffed on their first 10 choices and had to settle for Pruitt. Saban did not have an answer for that. From Muschamp to Kirby, to Pruitt Saban has always had an ace DC and recruiter. He didn't have an answer for that loss.

Kirby Smart and UGA's recruiting also rustled him to the point where he went and grabbed a lot of young position coaches who were known as recruiters more so than great coaches.

The player development on this Bama team was poor.

He is correcting the bad hires he made last year.

I was over at my parent’s house last year and Coach Rader knocked on the door asking to put a sign in their yard. He came in and talked some Alabama football with us. Good times!

Clearly that is an accurate statement lol. Not one person. Not 1. As evidenced by LSUs continued struggle to field decent teams and hire solid coaches. Dumbass

There is a different feel to this exit. I think Saban blew a gasket and fired everyone. I mean you have coaches making lateral moves and one took a paycut

They said that he was committing career suicide.

It's as accurate as Bjorn Cyborg's statement.

Would you follow this Bill Lumberg looking twat??

That said, Adam Gase did follow him from East Lansing.

Also, a member of his staff, Bobby Williams was made HC when he left. So many of them simply stayed on with him instead of moving.

Williams himself then eventually ended up in BR, then went with him to Miami, and then Tuscaloosa.

I dislike the guy as much as anyone, but plenty of coaches will be lining up to learn from him, and simply be affiliated with his brand, without question.

Bet they wish they could have a do-over on that one.

Well his statement is not accurate, actually. Also, the reasons coaches stay very briefly under Saban for the most part have been well known in coaching circles dating back 20 plus years. This is not new for him. It just gets attention bc he’s so successful since coming into the SEC.

But hey, let’s not let facts get in the way of anything. It’s pretty astounding that we continue to have so much success recruiting and fielding pretty good teams in nearly every sport, not just one.

Only 1 coach made a lateral move and that was Brent Key. He went to coach his alma mater. This was announced before the playoffs even started.

Locksley went from OC to Head coach
Gattis went from WR coach to OC
Enos went from QB coach to OC

Enos is the only one considered a great coach and the others are recruiters.
