You went to Hot Springs to dig for diamonds?
Might have had better luck if you went to Murfreesboro.

Is Malzahn just making sure his HC resume gets off to a great start, homesick, hone his skills,etc..
Is it that he didn't want bigger named gigs that may pay better, yet be up against it, and actually dead end jobs?
I think so. I think he is trying to build his resume with a successful stop on a career arc..ala Mack Brown, Nick Saban, Les Miles, Urban Meyer, rather than taking a fat yet dead-end AQ payday at a very challenged platform for winning consistently.

Yes. I think he also might realize that his stock took a hit this year, and if Frazier doesn't improve vastly over the offseason it will take another hit next year. Gotta strike while the iron is still warm at least.

Don't be surprised if rumors surface of Frazier following...Shiloh and Gus is like a cult following.

This.

Malzahn had zero real chance to get any real job. As long as Arky, Bama, and LSU are rolling, unless Cam comes back, AU is screwed. Sunbelt or MAC or USA was the best he cold do.

I am telling you. Freeze told Gus "Arkansas State is loaded Gus. Take the job! You'll go 11-1 with the reigning Sun Belt player of the year returning then you will get your 2million a year job you want."

Saban and chiz dueling it out for a coordinator
Yes, because we obviously have the same type of personnel on offense and would interview the same types of potential candidates.

Or head coach>assistant coach
But hey don't let logic get in the way
My biggest concern here is that Gus knows fraizer sucks and we're boned.

Frazier isn't going to sit out a year to transfer to Arky State.

Did we just get a "this" for a post saying don't be surprised if rumors surface?
Now I'm worried

You need to get a clue if u don't think it is a possibility.
I live amongst these people. Its a cult following. Frazier won't lose a year, he can redshirt.
I'd actually go as far to say half of his staff will even be made up of former Shiloh players or coaches. The first will be current Shiloh HC Josh Floyd.
Laugh all u want, but its the truth.

I think people would be more willing to work with Chiz tho.
The world will never know. There's about a 75% chance Saban will promote from within.

Malzahn isn't going to stay at ASU for 4 years to coach Frazier.

I was joking about the comparison: Arky State > Vandy
I don't think a HC position that makes about half of your current coordinator position at an SEC school necessarily supports your argument: HC > Assistant Coach
It actually seems to be that Malzahn was not happy OR Chizik told him to leave. Frazier will probably transfer. No info - just a guess.

Fyi, there is no place to dig for diamonds in Hot Springs
You're cutting in on someone's business in Hot Springs who has convinced Mississippians and Coonasses that they can find diamonds.

Malzahn isn't motivated by money. 800k a year in arkansas is a bunch of money. Gus has always wanted to come back to the area. I figured personally he would be going back to tulsa as hc but i guess arkansas state is close enough.

Why would he take that pay cut?
Because he is setting himself up for his dream job when petrino leaves arky...starting to learn the recruiting base again...
