well Kyrie you supported the promotion of the meat head we have as head coach, now you get to live with his crappy decisions

Yep...but it needs to at least be considered in their future plans, because our success on the field, now, is based on coordinators.

I'm not positive they know how to plan that far in advance, but hopefully they are. Hopefully Ponamsky is reading this.

He won't be here long

I agree it would suck for him to be one and done, but what successful OC isn't going to get offers to be a HC somewhere else? That goes with the territory. And its not a guarantee he would only be here one year. He wasn't able to land a HC gig after being OC for Saban for 3 years where he was very successful. I don't agree with going for a lesser talented OC just bc Kiffin "might" leave after one year.

He's not enough of a football geek. He's a charismatic, big-picture guy with some OC skills. And he's out for himself. I don't know that LSU should pair those qualities with Coach O, you've got your "personality" coach, now get some technicians.

Bama fans have wanted him fired for years because he refuses to use what works in games in order to be 'cute'

He'll only be here a year

He'll get us sanctioned working with O

Yeah, he really took a lot of carries away from Derrick Henry last year. He should have had at least 50 a game.

If he comes here and has a successful season, it will prove his abilities beyond Saban and make him more desirable for a HC job. He will leave then we will have 4 OC's in 3 seasons.

He only leaves after a year if he improves his stock by doing a really good job.

The actual downside is the possibility of sanctions.

How much does the fact that he'd be leaving Alabama play into the desire to have him as OC? If he had been the OC at Texas would he be high on your list, or would you prefer someone likely to be there a little longer?

Also, his dynamic offense scored 10 points on the LSU defense. That is absolutely to the LSU credit as it was an anomaly and his O scored way more on everyone else. That said, do you think he takes LSU's players on O and lights up the Bama D? Does hiring him change the outcome of that game? Probably not, but you would've beaten Wisconsin, AU, and Florida with him this year (that would be reason enough to hire him if I were an LSU fan)

Does he bring Sark? At least we'll have the back-up when he leaves next year.

Other than the fact that he is 1 and done, we are looking to run more of the spread. He has only run it for 1 year. I would much rather someone who is more familiar with it. I just think that Gilbert, Helfrich and Canada are better OCs

See UT and USC with Kiffin and O leading the charge. Both ended poorly.

I don't question his skills as an OC, he's among the best available. But if you can get guys who are just as good and will likely have for multiple seasons I think that's the way to go. Why bother having guys learn a new offense will be overhauling in a year? Its dumb and short sighted.....so just like our head coaching hire. Sign him up.

How many NFL qbs has Kiffin produced?

He was OC at USC when they had Matt Leinart and Mark Sanchez. NFL flops but successful in college.

And since he's been at Bama they've gotten to the playoffs 3 times with 3 different starting QB's.
