Yea I figured as much. At least with Todd you get new blood. I couldn't imagine the disappointment though, if after all this smoke, Texas had to settle for someone not named Saban.

Certainly would be some disappointment, but depending on who was actually hired it might be minimal. There are several other good candidates out there. Obviously Saban is best in the biz, but there are a few others that would be successful right away as well.

Everyone saying that "why do people compare this to ATPB, it was 2000 pages" does realize that this thread is what? 3 days old? ATPB was drawn out over months.

I could see letting the bama admin sweat for the weekend or whatever, maybe squeeze a bit more out of them, but going nearly a week with NO denials, hell no acknowledgements of the situation is what would concern me if I was a Bama fan. He may very well stay, but every hour that goes by without any word about any of this is more and more suspicious

Right. UT is paid $300 million over 20 years. 1% of that is $3 million over 20 years.

The Athletic Dept gets less than half of the $300 million. The marketing company gets something like 15% and the rest is split bw the AD and academic side. I'd assume the deal would be the full 1% of the entire deal which would be more than 1% of the AD's share and would come out of that side.

And? Whatever method it happened, ATPB will be far far more pages than this one. It's irrelevant how and why that is.
