Nice get for analyst.

My guess is he is taking over for Todd fitch as qb coach.

He made 475k last year as qb coach from ok st.

Sloan is the QB coach, but I think maybe Rattay could help a lot there
They may want Sloan to focus on OC duties which means Rattay may be like the Co-QB coach or something

.

He put up almost 5000 yards passing at Tech.

In 1998. Under Gary Crowton.

That will never not be amazing.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots wanted to draft a developmental QB in the 2000 NFL draft.

Their decision came down between Tim Rattay and Tom Brady. Many in the organization wanted Rattay. Belichick chose Brady because he was taller and fit the mold better of a prototypical drop back passer.

590 Yards against Nebraska that year. The year after Nebraska won a national championship. Troy Edwards had 405 receiving, which I think is still the record.

Those offenses were incredible. Crowton hit on a lot of small school talent that was passed over by LSU. Troy Edwards (Huntington Shreveport), John Simon and Delwyn Daigre (Southern Lab), Sean Cangelosi (Chapel Trafton/Dunham), James Jordan (Bonnabel) and Bobby Ray Tell (Haynesville) were all key players in the offense in 98.

LSU FB program be like Oprah to all these unemployed coaches

"you get a job, and you get a job, and you get a job"

What's the point of having a top tier HC if you can just hire all the best position coaches?

Weird melt. Every major program has this type of staff of analysts full of formerly unemployed coaches. Saban had the whole coaching rehab thing for 20 years

Melting down about an analyst hire lmao

Why would the best position coaches want to work for a low tier coach?

Everybody outside of Baton Rouge recognizes Brian Kelly as a winner, because he's won everywhere he's been. Maybe Brian Kelly isn't the problem.

He was a great player, but the QB play at OK State the past two years was horrendous, this past year especially.

A seventh-year, yes, seventh-year QB in his second season as a starter in the system regressed horribly, and a team with every starter returning on offense regressed from playing in the conference championship game to having a losing season, mostly because of the QB.

Because unless you are a top tier HC, you aren't going to get the best position coaches/coordinators.

Just look at Orgeron. Part of the reason he failed was because he was forced to hire his 6th/7th choices as coordinators. No reputable coach wanted to work with him at all.

Talent follows other talent, etc etc.

More like Ryan Perrillouxed

Offense would have been perfect for RP.
