This feels like the Francione hire all over again.
might end up being that way but at least Jimbo has skins on the wall.

he can't get FSU to commit to facilities and staff compensation
See this is the kind of bullshite that has come out (from I believe Jimmy Sexton) that has burned the bridge between Jimbo and FSU. We built the indoor practice facilities, renovated the LR, and built new player dorms. The only thing we haven't built yet is the FOF. Annnnd we already agreed to jack up the assistant coach budget for new coaches. This is all about Jimbo not liking how the boosters control money and him thinking he should control every single aspect of everything at the school.

I'm not equating the two coaches, just the similarities in the two coaching searches.
Jimbo > Fran

One of Jimbo’s weakneses seems to be staff hires.

By what metric? It's certainly not wins, recruiting, or national championships

i think he's gone this time. fsu people were confident they'd keep him the last two times this came up. this year they seem resigned to the fact he's leaving.
Maybe that has more to do with them wanting him to leave this time.

A&M can out spend anyone, but to say FSU hasn't spent money with upgrades is a lie
Herbstreit was just laughing about how antiquated they are on his podcast.

All I know is the prospect of Jimbo going to AnM pisses me off. We were supposed to get him and ended up with O (whom I like, actually). But if you are an LSU fan, there is absolutely some concern there. He is a really good coach and will have access to some of the very best quarterbacks in the nation. Our dominance over AnM could very well come to an end. And with what Saban is doing to recruiting in n la from two states away, Fisher will be trying to absolutely rape n. La..... so, yeah, I’m definitely concerned.

who cares about their facility upgrades? facility upgrades attract recruits...recruiting has never been a problem for FSU
Posted on 11/28/17 at 1:34 pm to ApexTiger
If the money is there, and the facilities are there, maybe he just doesn’t like your school and city?

if getting him is really gonna cost A&M 7.5m+/yr i’m good

I was hoping he'd take the LSU job last year. I didn't think we'd ever be 5-6 but I knew all the hype going into this year or any year was bullshite with that staff, and it seems obvious to me that Jimbo lost it after that divorce. I'm not saying it won't work for A&M because I think he might just need to start over, but FSU was going nowhere with him moving forward. I'll say this as a warning to Aggies, if he is insisting on still running and calling the offense, temper your expectations
I was nervous a bit last year because I thought this season could be special. That changed after NCSU and I've wanted him gone more since.
This gets FSU off the hook for a crazy buyout. Also get a chance at a young coach with a more diverse offense.

why does it really matter to you?
Orgeron isnt making a large salary but do you think the cost to go to an LSU game is going to go down? No.
We went cheap and lazy and its already showing in attendance, season ticket sales, and performance.

is it just me or has he come off as a real jerk these last few years?
Posted on 11/28/17 at 1:39 pm to jlnoles79
How is he full of shite? The guy goes around the country and sees what all every has all season long. Do you think he has some sort of bias against FSU and is just making it up?
