it done on the field isn't that what really matters here?

if it were Les that posted this record with yet another Bama loss what would the narrative be?

this is more long term outlook. If he's botching hires this early, I fear the day someone comes calling for Dave

I vote Jordan Rodgers for next st coach. He was able to break down gonsulin's issues fairly easily.

And he's not going anywhere. This was a narrative made up by this board. Not saying he wouldn't leave, but he really has no where to go. Staying at Lsu is his best shot to move on to something better.

Which is pretty debatable. Not saying he has hit homeruns at every turn but you seem to be splitting some hairs.

9 and 3 with this team ain't bad. Doubt many could have pulled that off.

You doubt many coaches could have beaten Troy?

Teams Orgeron beat:

a bad BYU team (3-9)
a bad FCS school (3-8)
a bad Syracuse (barely) (4-8)
a bad Florida team (by a missed extra point) (4-7)
Auburn (very good win) (10-2)
a bad Ole Miss Team (6-6)
a bad Arkansas team (4-8)
a historically bad Tennessee (4-8)
a mediocre A&M (7-5)

The combined record of teams he beat is 45-61...take out his one good win against Auburn and its 35-59...yeah man i don't know who could have duplicated that. 4 of his 9 wins came against teams that are hiring new coaches now..5 if you count Ole Miss who hired their Orgeron, at least they can use the probation excuse for making that move.

Many coaches could have pulled this season off, many could have done even better and not lost to Troy and I dare say some could even have avoided getting raped by Mississippi State.

You could have just titled this thread what you really wanted to:

“Let’s talk about the shortcomings of all of our assistant coaches

The only one you felt the need to say anything remotely positive about was robinson

so its debatable but you chose not to do that? Pete is probably the only one I was overly critical on, the rest are pretty fair assessments

you hire this guy to make a change and you shut him down 3 games in?

This should've been a red flag to even the staunchest O supporters. A whole offseason of promises that he was going to let the coaches coach and wasn't going to interfere was broken within a month into the season.

gauntlet?

Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ole Piss COMBINED to win a whopping 4 conference games this year.
Florida isn’t even bowl eligible.

Most reputable programs have a HC with a guiding philosophy on one side of the ball, not one whose philosophy is ever changing and at the whim of the coaches available to him.

Did you not see O’s introductory press conference, or all the times last year when he was interim and said he learned from his mistakes at OM and would concentrate on what he knew and let the other coaches do their job? O stated he would stay out of the way MANY times.

Well a coach in year 1 with a new offense vs a coach in year 10+ with the same stale offense isn't really comparing apples to apples is it?

Why are you screaming doom and gloom if we actually improved as the season went on? I think you're being hyper critical of O here, and i am not even an O fan. This just seems like bashing for the sake of bashing.

that was the model from the start, save on O's salary and invest in coordinators. Come on, don't play stupid

O caught a super weak conference schedule in year 1, entire conference was down.

I can't explain the Troy loss.

timing couldn't of been better for him in his first year where he HAD to win.

Remember, this isn't some re-build. This dude was hired to sustain and improve.

I can, Orgeron didn't live up to his promise to stay the frick out of the way and he meddled with Canada's offense
