You’d have 12-1 B12 OU, 11-2 Bama and 11-1 ND for the 4th spot

Notre Dame still gets favoritism to this day because of the old fricks on the CFP committee and their loss is a better loss than Oklahoma's at that point. I could easily see ND getting in over OU.

Too much uncertainty for SW to play a game of musical chairs for LR. Again, I think it’s someone else.

“In Woody We Trust”. If that’s our mantra, then we have to believe that, IF it is in fact Riley, SW has him signed & sealed waiting on delivery. There is NO WAY he would just wait around until, possibly, January 11th on a maybe. If he would, then he’s dumber than Alleva. Maybe, if OU makes it, he’d be willing to wait around until after the Big 12 championship game; which may be why Napier hasn’t signed on at UF; he knows there might be a chance. It’s too quiet from the OU side to not believe they know Riley is gone.

They already have Notre Dame at 5. If they win out after BAMA loses, They’re in.

It’s set up for these final teams to make it in..

Georgia
Ohio St
Cincinnati
Notre Dame
Alabama
Michigan

OU winning out and then not making it makes LSU look really good to LR too.

Congrats. You just figured out that he’s signed nothing.

If the deal is done as we’re lead to believe, Woodward isn’t going to call Riley and the deal is off the table because he’s still winning games . That would be an interesting conversation. Sorry Lincoln, we’re going to have to move on because you didn’t lose anymore games so we could announce sooner. They’ve already said getting the right coach is more important than one recruiting class.

you lie. Nothing is done on paper which is all that matters

Unless Alabama finishes with 1 loss and beats Georgia. Then, the CFB Playoffs will be:
Ohio St. or Michigan
Georgia
Alabama
Cincinnati

If OU makes the CFP and we haven’t hired another coach, then everyone can reasonably assume the deal is done. So, we have our answer either way by Sunday, 12/5.

True but assuming OU wins next two that’s two more top 10 wins on their resume.

That’s the biggest mystery because this has never been done before. A playoff coach jumping to another school.

It’s kinda been shown in the past conference championships don’t hold all that much weight

ND loss was to a top 10 team
OU loss was to a top 10 team

If OU beats OkSt twice they will have way more ranked wins than ND. I'm just being here they'd deserve it over ND. I don't want it to happen for personal reasons

And it wouldn’t happen here

Let’s say Riley did sign an MOU, which I’d bet money he hasn’t, there would be clauses in there that would release him from the agreement. Namely, not being available to take over the job by a certain date.

That would be a problem.

I could see SW having Riley sign papers to be the next coach, with some agreement between the two that he would be allowed to coach OU through the remainder of the regular season. In other words, coach the game tomorrow and then make the announcement Monday.

Great point, if he were to go on and win the NC (highly unlikely) he definitely stays in Norman. Will be a lot of people on suicide watch on this board.

it can’t happen. He’d have to tell ou and the it would be a mess. He’d have to step down, 2 games from winning a nc, bc he thinks he has a better shot winning here.
