We have an Athletic Director and a President who have only been on their jobs a few weeks. We have a wacky governor.
But at least we have Nick Saban helping. Makes me feel a little bit better.

How does Nick Saban owe LSU anything?

Yes, and this part in particular you misunderstood:
No one knows better than Saban that LSU will without question invest what you have to win.
Unless you’re agreeing with me. I’m drunk so it could be me misunderstanding what you’re saying

Well, O said Pete Carroll surprisingly previously said that Tiger Stadium was his favorite place growing up and Tommy Casanova was one of his favorite players. He said he always wished he had a chance to coach LSU because of Tiger Stadium, etc.
And Saban said his biggest professional regret was leaving LSU. Soooo....

Saban might tell him to wait and see what happens in the Iron Bowl

Saban has too much love for LSU for that to happen. He has repeatedly said to this day that leaving LSU is his biggest professional regret

I love how so many LSU fans now fully believe that Saban is all of a sudden an LSU guy
Neither of those guys are going to do LSU any favors and that is honestly the first thing I’ve read that has given me pause about this thing getting locked up.

He could have stayed and not gone to the Dolphins. In which, he says is the biggest regret of his coaching career.

“He could have stayed and not gone to the Dolphins. In which, he says is the biggest regret of his coaching career.”
Ah, LSU fans are so entertaining. They never finish the rest of what he said in that statement.
They also never say he could have had the LSU job back multiple times. All he had to do was ask and that despite never getting over LSU he coached Bama for 17 years and still makes his home there.

You clearly didn’t see Saban talk on gameday last week. He was the only one that essentially said it was easier to recruit and win at LSU vs Ole Miss

So y'all think that Nick Saban, who's biggest regret is walking away after taking a SEC team to their first title in 50 years, is going to tell Lane to not create his own dynasty and walk away?
Posted on 11/28/25 at 5:33 pm to tigers33
Yet it’s been mentioned on this board many times that Saban is part of the group that would block Lane going to Bama because of some past actions. If that’s true then basically he believes good enough for LSU but not Bama ?

Sabn isn't going to recommend either one. All he's going to do is walk LK through his thoughts and emotions. He's there for the decision making process, not the decision itself.
