That program got Larry Coker'd and never recovered. Use to be a powerhouse now it's a job nobody wants.

Miami is more of a cultural fit for Lane than Oxford, MS. If they can pay him more and he doesn't have to battle it out in the Thunderdome (SECW) anymore, I don't see why it couldn't be the better job, especially in the age of NIL smack dab in the middle of Miami.

LK to Miami would be great for their program. He brings the old persona back and can coach as well. All the old U players would flock to help him out.

Lane isn't going undefeated in the SEC. Miami fits him perfectly. He don't have to win a lot and still enjoy the coastal lifestyle.

Based on that Miami is the best job in the country

Any "tax benefits" in Florida are offset by cost of living differences. Oxford is awesome and Ole Miss will pay him more, give him better facilities, fund recruiting, etc. Miami is a shite hole job now. Absolute shite hole.

Florida is a deep state full of top talent.

You aren't winning shite, recruiting mainly in Mississippi.

He doesnt have to leave the state of Florida to recruit, and win.

That's not why Miami has slipped. They've slipped because of the university which never liked the "U" era. They prefer to be an academic institution first and foremost like Vandy, Rice, Duke, etc.

The last 2 ADs were not supportive of the sport and there's not enough football support among the typical Miami alumni.

That's odd. I heard Cristobal is their top target.

I could see him going to Florida, not to Miami. Dumpster fire of a program that hasn’t been relevant since we beat that arse in ‘05.

Lane owns a home on the water in Boca that he bought in 2017 that is likely worth easily 30% more than he paid for it considering this ridiculous housing cycle we have been in. Boca is about 50 miles away from Coral Gables. People aren’t thinking this one through. If Miami is willing to make promises and commitments to Lane he would absolutely take that job. ACC Coastal provides a much easier path to playoff than SEC West.

Lane kiffin loves boats and the water.

He would be back in florida and will get a raise. Don't think it's a great move for him personally.

Ole Miss is a better job today, but Miami has the higher ceiling because of the talent in that state alone.

Nah, with the way Clemson is looking, the ACC is up for grabs. Ol miss will never be able to consistently compete with Bama, LSU, auburn and tamu in the SECw.

First of all, he's aware of his reputation as a job hopper and he hasn't even been at OM a full 2 seasons. Second, he has OM rolling and he has the ego to think that he can get them over the hump, there's a good chance they finish 10-2 and second in the west in his second year.

His ego is big enough not to care about job hopping.

Would love for Lane to go to Miami if not here at LSU. We need Ole Piss to go back to being a rent a win.

That’s a pipe dream. Cristobal ain’t leaving Oregon but for a really big job. Likely the Bama job. Certainly not for Miami.

OM has a higher commitment to football. It's also in a division with 6 other programs, most better positioned to win, that are just as committed.
You don't even have to do that exceptional at Miami to reach Ole Miss' ceiling in the last 60 years, the height of Freeze's era was 3 loss teams. That's easy work in the ACC for Miami if they ever get a decent coach.
