How about based off his entire career of winning nothing ?

The post I was replying to referenced only the Arkansas game, so his career wasn’t relevant.

Kinda like Brian Kelly had ND prepared when bama raced out to a 35-0 lead in the NC game?

Don’t forget Clemson either.

Maybe we should call him “Big Game Brian” in honor of Stoops.

Lashing out is okay, I’m sure some coach will make Auburn relevant again sometime in the future

This search reminds me of LSUs last year. All we heard was
Lincoln Riley for a couple of weeks, then they call a press conference and Brian Kelly is hired.Looks like Lane is
the Riley for AU.Keep the press off of the real choice.

Is that what you call it when Lane turned down Auburn last night?

You spend a shite load of your time talking about how bad Kiffin is.

For someone who sucks as much as you claim he sure lives rent free in your head.

Has he signed his extension yet??

I guess OM is just keeping that on the DL like the state of their NIL.

Yes, smart people definitely make decisions based off of one game.
Ok let’s look at everything

Lane at Tenn

7-6

Lane at USC

28-15

Lane at ole miss

23-10

He is a solid coach, but he isn’t some home run can’t miss guy. Honestly, there is nothing about lane that is better than Gus from an actual production standpoint

They are both good coaches, but seem to have a system that will let you down a few times a year. Flame away

Losing to LSU and Alabama in b2b games, knocking themselves out of the West race and an NY6 bowl, and then going on the road to play an Arkansas team that views them somewhat as a rival with their starting QB back in a unseasonably cold environment and late start...yeah them getting beat wasn't that unexpected.

Kiffin's name was thrown around last year too for multiple different jobs, and his team didn't lose focus. I don't really think that's why they came out flat

He was doing a lot of good things there. They were playing much better than the year prior, and he'd done a really good job recruiting in his only year there.

Lane at USC

took over a team on the most serious NCAA sanctions we've seen from the NCAA in some time. All things considered, he didn't do poorly there IMO. That said, thought he was dumb to take the job when he did. Seemed like a no-win situation for whoever did once those sanctions came down.

That's an impressive record at a program like Ole Miss

WHo is saying he's a "can't miss" guy. There might be 2-3 of those in all of college football

Auburn seems to be really fired up about him which makes no sense considering they forced out Gus. I feel like lanes ceiling is being what Gus was with more flare

Why shouldn't they be excited? Why do you think forcing out Gus is relevant to their excitement level of hiring Kiffin now?

Well, that's one opinion. He could also be better than Gus. If we all had crystal balls to know how good a hire would be, coaching hires would never fail.

Because the coach they are hiring doesn’t appear to be better than the one they fired two years ago?

Were you excited when we hired Les miles?

is he better than the guy they fired 2 weeks ago?

Why do you think that's comparable or relevant to this situation, like at all?

Hiring Harsin was the mistake, not firing Gus or being excited about Kiffin.

And if you think you must insert Gus into this argument, Gus went 8-5, 9-4, 6-4 after signing a massive extension. Kiffin is probably going to win 10 games in b2b seasons at Ole Miss. Gus averaged about 5 losses a season at Auburn

The probability Kiffin produces better seasons, on average, than Gus did is pretty good. Gus made a big splash his first season with Chizick's players and Cam Newton and never lost fewer than 4 games his next 7 years at Auburn.

I agree in that Lane is staying put.
He can't respond to every rumor but he needed to respond based upon the volume of rumors swirling on social media.
He's building a solid program at Ole Miss. I'm happy he's a Rebel!

Rumors that Lane told all the players to be at the press conference today. Supposed to start any minute.
