If he were hired for whatever reason, prepare for shootout football every single game. He has never had a defense worth a shite on any team he’s been the head coach. I don’t see that being a great direction for LSU.
Sounds like Kiffin

Kingsbury's career redemption is directly tied to Jayden being awesome and we should know better than anybody about that since Jayden being awesome held Kelly's tenure together.

Would be a horrible hire. The definition of falling upwards despite failing at your jobs consistently. He sucks as a HC. Very good offensive mind and would make a great OC but you do not want him as HC.

5 years ago and prior that woulda been more significant. Teams just don’t play defense now the way they used to. No team does.

Kiffin has had much better defenses in general than Kingsbury.

Coming from North Texas he could be announced moving forward with pieces in place while other big names are still.coaching.
Why? Coach's don't jump mid-stream for other jobs. AD's don't forget that kinda stuff. Why settle for Morris? Because he’s cheap? Really sound logic. Let Morris prove himself at a more higher level, at a Big12 or ACC school before throwing the keys to LSU Football at him

Is this becuse of the post on secrant, from a bama fan claiming to know that LSU has made the hire, and it’s a current nfl coach that used to coach at some “pretty big programs” in college?
Posted on 11/9/25 at 4:23 pm to OchoDedos
Well GEOis glad they took a chance on Kirby, and how about Lanning at ORE I’m sure there are happy. If LSU would have signed either one of those this board would have burned down.HOMERUN HIRE MY arse!!

Hates coaching college. Loves biddies

They may not jump mid season but announcing leaving a school like North Texas towards the end of a season isnt the same as announcing a move from a power 5.
He has a lot of experience developing players and turning programs around.
Smart guy

Eric Morris: Coaching History and Accolades
Eric Morris (born October 26, 1985) is a highly regarded offensive mind in college football, known for his Air Raid-style schemes influenced by mentors like Mike Leach and Kliff Kingsbury. At 40 years old, he's established a reputation for developing quarterbacks (e.g., Patrick Mahomes, Chandler Morris, Cameron Ward) and explosive offenses. His career spans from quality control roles to head coaching at the FCS and FBS levels. Below is a chronological overview of his coaching positions, records, and key accolades.
Coaching Timeline
2010: Houston Cougars – Quality Control Assistant
Entry-level role focused on film breakdown and logistics during his early post-playing career.
2011: Houston Cougars – Graduate Assistant (Wide Receivers)
Continued player development under Tony Levine, emphasizing special teams and receivers.
2012: Washington State Cougars – Inside Wide Receivers Coach
Reunited with Mike Leach; helped install the Air Raid offense, coaching slot receivers in a pass-heavy system.
2013: Texas Tech Red Raiders – Co-Offensive Coordinator/Inside Wide Receivers Coach
Shared OC duties under Kliff Kingsbury; offense ranked No. 2 nationally in passing (392.8 YPG) and No. 8 in total offense (511.0 YPG). Coached standout TE Jace Amaro (Big 12 record 106 receptions, 1,254 yards).
2014–2017: Texas Tech Red Raiders – Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach

Led RB DeAndré Washington to first 1,000-yard rushing season at Tech in over a decade (1,492 yds, 16 TDs, 2015). Coached 2016 NFL Draft picks: Le'Raven Clark (OT, 2nd round), DeAndré Washington (RB, 5th round), Jakeem Grant (WR, 6th round). Offenses consistently ranked top-20 nationally in scoring and yards.
2018–2021: Incarnate Word Cardinals (FCS) – Head Coach
Named head coach on Dec. 30, 2017. Turned around the program in the Southland Conference.
Record: 24–18 (.571)

2020: Spring 2021: 2–2 (COVID-shortened).
2021: 11–3 (6–2 SLC), SLC champs, FCS quarterfinalists (best finish in program history).
Key: Developed QBs like Zach Calzada; offenses averaged 38+ PPG in winning seasons.
2022: Washington State Cougars – Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach
Returned to Pullman under Jake Dickert. Led nation's No. 14 scoring offense (36.8 PPG) and No. 21 total offense (430.6 YPG). Coached QB Cameron Ward (3,244 pass yds, 23 TDs), discovering him as a JUCO transfer and turning him into a Heisman contender. Ranked No. 10 nationally in red-zone efficiency (91.5%).
2023–Present: North Texas Mean Green (FBS, AAC) – Head Coach
Hired Dec. 13, 2022, as the 20th head coach in program history. Transformed UNT into an offensive juggernaut, with top-10 national rankings in total offense each year. Contract extended through 2029 (as of Oct. 2025).

Big fan of former quarterbacks, especially all star players.
All we can hope for is someone that’s all in. Someone who can relate to players and motivate them. Who consistently wins at the daily to do list.

I don’t really love his offense, it’s very lateral based
Posted on 11/10/25 at 11:41 am to G&P
He has benefited from having QB's that have great ability at making plays when the plays breakdown. Not saying his offenses aren't any good but look at the QB's he has had when he was coaching.
He failed at 2 other HC jobs, why take the chance on giving him another?
I'd rather take a chance on UNT or Tulane's coach.
