Bama comes calling and he takes that job because UGA has hired Kirk Ferentz to be head coach.

Meh. I see Bama going after Dabo when Saban leaves.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see Kirby cash in for a couple of years.

and I’m sure he remembers Nick Saban and the Dolphins.
He may want the chance to 1-up his mentor in that respect.

The falcons?

LOL

he's not leaving his alma mater for the Falcons... put the crack pipe down

Last I checked, despite all the NIL and transfer portal BS, he's still sitting at #1 in recruiting..

so, ...he isn't leaving that situation for more money...10 million a year already is generational wealth

saban had the 2004 version of this scenario and threw it all away for a shot at the pros. and that's before nil/recruiting turned into an even bigger pain.

Crap. He could pull a Saban. That makes too much sense.

Would set him up to replace Saban once he fails there.

This is what Alabama does. They will not hire a young coach who has limited experience at another school. They went 24 years between the Bear and Saban with only National Championship.

Bama fans? How about everyone.

Kirby is a serious fricking problem for other teams and I don't see him ever leaving UGA for another college job.

The absolute best thing that could ever happen is him taking a shot at the NFL.

Otherwise that a-hole is gonna have elite teams in Athens for like the next 20 years.

1) If after 5 years things are not working out I don't see that college would close its doors to Kirby.
2) The landscape of NIL and Collectives would have more clarity in 5 years if not sooner.
3) Either Georgia welcomes him back or he slides in as Saban's replacement, again, considering things don't work out in the league.

I don't see that happening & Kirby screwing over his Alma Mater in that hyhypothetical scenario.

They were able to pull Saban away from the Dolphins but unlike Saban, Smart has a long history with UGA with a sense of pride & loyalty to that program. That's the biggest difference here.

Yes if I was Kirby I’d listen too. Doesn’t mean he’ll move. I doubt he will. UGA HC is a more prestigious job than Falcons HC imo

Saban isn't a graduate of LSU

And the Dolphin job is way better than falcons...

Considering he was there, I'm guessing he remembers it quite well.

He doesn’t strike me as an NFL guy, but he has been pretty anti NIL and portal so if Arthur Smith wants to throw frick you money at him maybe he’d listen.

Is Sexton his agent too?

He'd be better going to Carolina and having Georgia just have an interim coach for a season. If he gets fired in the middle of the season, he makes $30M and goes back to Georgia, if not he can re-evaluate after the season.

Meh coaches who reach the peak of their profession like this are always looking for the next big challenge. He has done all there is to accomplish at Georgia would not be surprised to see him jump to the NFL
