Well, they only lose three starters from the defense, overall....those two LBers and Shareece Wright.

Seems like the defense should be a bit better/more experienced overall, so long as they can replace the starters.

two LBers

that's the part that concerns me if I'm a Trojan fan.

neither are good, Adam. Why should I be concerned about average to below average players graduating?

because the backups are probably even worse.

Tell me this...

If they're so bad why are both going to get NFL chances?

lol if you think Michael Morgan gets anywhere near an NFL roster. He's been one of the worst starters all year. Smith may be a late round pick

These guys leaving will allow Devon Kennard to play OLB more, which is his natural position. We have a couple good LB prospects coming in and some decent younger prospects that are redshirting

It's not like Rey Rey, Cushing, and Matthews are leaving

and you think there will be no drop off at all?

btw I want to make it clear you know ALOT more than I do about USC. I'm just curious what your thoughts are on next year.

if you say so... It's just curious that if they're not good why both are expected to get drafted.

I find it even stranger that you think their backups will be even better and that the defense will be better next year.

it is the man's 1st season and they lost a ton of talent. Everyone knew losing Pete Carroll was going to hurt USC.
I think Lane Kiffin is a pretty good coach, (though he is an arse) he needs a little time.

Young players who are either coming in or redshirting are often better than the players they replace. That's not exactly uncommon. Also, the secondary should be significantly better, which has been the biggest issue with the defense

cbs says he's a 7th rounder or UFA, so that basically means they're sculpting his head in canton right now

No way does LK deserve such pay, what has he done?

The fate of captaining this sanctioned ship could not have happened to a better guy. Can't wait for the mutiny to see him and his goons forced to walk the blank.

Dude is a joke. Most irrelevant coach ever who has rode success around him his entire career. Never accomplished anything, yet, somehow continues to get high profile jobs.

He was a dumbass for taking that job now anyway. The Tennessee is currently a much better gig.

His first year coaching there and a program on probation. I think he has a little time before his seat gets warm. Not to mention the rest of the pac 10 is stronger than it has been in recent history (oregon and stanford).

Ultimately they can all thank Carroll. However, slimy as Kiffin is - who can they get to come in while on probation? He gets until 2012 or 2013, at the least, to win 10 games, I think. If he gets caught cheating (and he is cheating), then all bets are off.
