New defensive assistant Kerry Cooks signed a three-year deal — similar to LSU’s other assistant coaches — according to his term sheet. He will make an average of $500,00 per year.

So...he's replacing Raymond then at that pay grade? Better get someone else in the secondary who can actually recruit even if it's just the DC.

Before people start bashing this hire go back and look at his résumé played both in college in the NFL. And definitely has the skins on the wall to be a defensive backs coach. Don’t let him be an analyst be the judge on your opinions. At the time Kelly wanted Him on his staff, but the staff was full so you go into the analyst role So he wouldn’t go nowhere else

I did look at his resume. It's not impressive and he's not a good recruiter.

This is grossly misleading, Cooks will not be given a position at DB or anywhere else until all of the assistant positions are filled. You need to correct the title, you are being dishonest.

You’re just trying to stand out but lying idiots are a dime a dozen here. Nowhere in the tweet does it say DB coach. Just stop!

After looking at his recruiting track record, I like Cooks a lot more. He’s got a good resume, he’s been a Co-DC twice, and players already seem to know him and have a good relationship with him.

He has spent his entire coaching career coaching defensive backs. Either safeties or corners.

You think Kelly is bringing him to allow him to coach a different position group for the first time ever in his career?

You're crazy. That's some stockholm syndrome shite there to justify this guy's resume to Coach Raymond. He was one of the biggest DB coach names in NCAA if not the biggest and has a good long list of players he put in the NFL. He was a good coach and a great recruiter. Care to name the big names he's coached and put in the NFL like Raymond?

They dropped the ball on losing Raymond plain and simple. Saying he is comparable to CR at this point is just pure stupidity trying to justify the hire.

There are a few posters trying very hard to devalue everything Kelly does

Bet you’ll never guess what they have in common.

Take the cock out of your mouth. You don't have to like every hire BK makes. He's made good hires up until this point. Cooks is a pure head scratching moment. Anyone saying they'd trade Cooks for Raymond is on some serious copium shite right now.

People are simply calling it like it is.

Flint is a great hire.

Polian is an outstanding hire.

Cooks is a mediocre hire at best.
