This board doesn't take life, for me personally, until LSU is involved, but lets chill with speculation about Briles or any other dream hire until there's a position to actually hire for.

You have to admit the speculation is warranted though. A hot seat is enough for this board, and he is on a hot seat

I've said this many times, if Orgeron wants longevity, he needs to get away from Steve at OC. I have nothing against Ensminger, but his role is at TE coach.

LSU needs a young and innovative spread offense mind that can really connect with the millennial QBs in today’s game

I propose Jacob Spavital

O is going to have a 10 win regular season with Steve. Like it or not if they keep winning like that O will have plenty of longevity.

Don't worry, we just have to keep paying him a $1 Million dollars and start paying even more people to cover for his ineptness at developing/coaching QBs and his own offense.

He would have to have a medical condition to not be here next year. We could have 99 yards of offense and nothing would happen. O is way to committed to him to backtrack.

That depends. If the offense is perceived to still be holding us back from championships, he'll have to change eventually. Winning with lackluster offenses didn't save Les.

We would not have 9 wins if it wasn't for Aranda.

Changed it for you!

LSU/CEO can have 10 wins, but it's not bc of Steve

I'm sure O would disagree. He thinks Ensminger's done an amazing job.

For whatever reason he thinks Ensminger can do no wrong.

I can just see the presser now:

"Steve led us to __ wins and a great season. I think we will only continue to improve and I look forward to working with Steve to make our offense better."

A factor to keep in mind when considering replacing E (who hasn’t been bad) ... What young up-and-coming OC would risk his future working under a proven backstabbing, blaming, interfering POS head coach?

Remember how hard it was to find an OC two years ago before Canada was hired? There was a reason...

Orgeron would never hire an up and comer that has aspirations to be a head coach. They would be an enemy like Canada instead of a fellow staff member.

ETA: jacknola beat me to it

I've maintained this for a while.

That's why he preaches "loyalty" so much. And that's why Ensminger's perfect for him. E has no aspirations to be a HC and thus poses no threat.
