No, not because we wouldn’t interview him before hiring, but because it’s a legacy name in the BTR circle. All those old folks pushed Pelini back to BTR because of history and good ol boys syndrome. Jimbo is the same thing. We better land Riley Bc jimbo will set us back for another 4 years

I don’t really want Jimbo, but this is kind of over-the-top
Jimbo would be a good hire. Not my first choice (or even in my Top3), but a good hire nonetheless
I don’t think he’d win another title here (or anywhere for that matter), but I also think he’d easily have us at 9-10+ wins consistently.

I really do understand the animosity towards Jimbo. He’s won at every school he’s been and has a NC under his belt.

It comes off as hyperbole because 2021 Jimbo is 100% not comparable to 2021 Bo Pelini as a coach — but in comparing the politics & logic, he’s really not too far off base.
If Jimbo comes and doesn’t pan out (I have as many reasons to believe he would / would not as any other potential candidate)... the good ole boy narrative will catch legs fast.
At the end of the day, I trust Scott is doing his due diligence. If Jimbo is the hire, I’ll shelf my pessimism of his offense & hope for the best.
Until then, I’m screaming for Riley.

The guy finished in the top 10 last year, he's #11 this year and beat Alabama, he's got the third-highest winning percentage in all of college football and a national championship under his belt.
He's qualified for the job. Can't say that about most of what we trail in here, and the last three coaches have all won national titles.
