Jim McElwain? Convince me otherwise...

Pros: Solid overall offensive mind, solid overall qb coach, solid recruiter, knows the SEC, coached national championship teams, worked under Saban and knows his defensive attack, had players taken high in NFL draft. no NCAA issues to worry about.
Cons: Has never met a toothbrush he likes, dry personality, LSU fans hate him, LSU administration may not be fond of him, and may not be long-term option for LSU.
Now don't bash me, but outside of this past season at UF, he's proven to be a pretty good "overall" coach.
At Fresno St their offenses were always competitive, at Alabama he utilized all their talent to create a formidable offense, at Colorado St he revived an otherwise cellar dweller, and at UF won the SEC East two years in a row despite not having an SEC caliber qb. He was also a solid recruiter especially securing qb.
Just saying...we could do much worse.

After everything that happened between him and us, there is no way: 1. O would hire him 2. Alleva would hire him 3. He would come to LSU 4. The players would play for him.
