Jim Leonhard is a most likely a great DC, but he also got those numbers playing against the Big 10 west offenses. So you are still taking a chance on him doing it in the SEC.

We aren’t super high on Leonhard anyway. Concerns with recruiting and inflated stats from playing in the worst offensive division in football.

It honestly isn’t. This is a fake report, but even before this many were not that high on him. I’m still not.

Since 2010, Wisconsin has been outside of the top 20 in scoring defense exactly twice. They’ve had 5 different defensive coordinators in that time. Everyone does well at Wisconsin.

There’s also the fact that he wants to be a head coach. Part of the reason he’s an analyst now is that he didn’t get the Wisc HC job. A 1 year stopgap not known for recruiting looking for an HC job isn’t really my first choice. Is he on the list? Yes. Not at the top though.
