He has been fighting for better facilities, higher recruiting budget etc. Jay Paterno and another big booster have voted down these things. They had a $50 million facility upgrade on the addenda in July that got rejected by the PSU board of trustees.

Paterno is still salty about how Joe was treated during tge Sandusky ordeal. I wouldn’t be surprised if Franklin is looking to jump ship.

Sounds similar to what Jimbo was going through at FSU before he bolted for TAMU, including pay for assistants. Although I'm sure the personal side was also a factor.

Franklin to USC confirmed.

I hope so, because I would be severely disappointed if he winds up at LSU. I would take Tucker, Napier, or Aranda before him.

Almost everyone is a mercenary. I'd leave my job for somewhere else if it paid me significantly more, unless the place was a toxic dump. Even then.

What's wrong with that?

Yes he has a huge ego as do 99.99% of head coaches.

What a stupid thing for Franklin to say. I mean, why would he even say that? Did he also come out and say he never interviewed his defensive coordinator before hiring him?

And that is exactly the type of thing I would expect... nay, demand... the future coach of USCw to say.

Some rumors stated talks with Franklin did not go well at all. If true, I can see how now.

Yeah he needs to go to USC. Good place for him and he will probably keep them more relevant than they have been but will have similar results as PSU. He’s just too goofy for a head coach IMO.

Ummm. What do you mean “wrong “?

I’m actually calling for honesty. How in fricks sake did you take that as a criticism? I’m criticizing the act that it isn’t mercenary.

And, I don’t mean that negatively.

I personally like the Kiffin route.

new job offer that could piss off Nick

If I can’t have Riley then I want him. As long as I don’t have to see Mel Tucker get the job for reasons unrelated to the job, I’m ok tho.

WHY????

anyone but franklin.

franklin will be 36-36 overall and 25-23@PSU in conference play after this weekend when he doenst have joe moorehead to bail him out.

frick that dude. 100% mediocrity. SFP said it best, just good enough to not get fired every 3rd or 4th year.

tucker might be a much bigger risk, but his ceiling is 1000 times higher.

take pretty much anyone but franklin.
