Really? Jimbo gets no credit as HC, but Herman gets all the credit as OC? Solid logic.

Agreed...Jimbo would have to tell me no first.

He checks all the boxes in my book.

Oh wait, so now it was Herman that beat Jimbo. You sure it wasn't Greg Ward Jr. that beat Jimbo? And why doesn't Jimbo get credit for the NC, but the loss to Houston is on him?

Your hatred for Jimbo is very obvious, and you're simply a dumbass.

Jimbo is a good hc no doubt. Is he at the Saban and Meyer level?? No... but nobody else is either

Anyone that claims to know which one is a better coach, either way, is ignorant.

Regardless, being a head coach in college is soooo much more than Xs and Os. Quite frankly, Xs and Os aren't very important at all in college and high school.

Look, no one's bashing Herman. Everyone agrees that Herman may very well be the next big-time great coach.

You seem to be the one tearing down Jimbo and confusing people that would choose Jimbo over Herman as somehow "dissing" Herman. Herman may be great, but Jimbo without question has the better resume and more experience. It's not even debatable.

FWIW, Gerry Dinardo and Watson Brown and Charlie Weatherbie beat Nick Saban.

What's wrong with Ensminger remaining at OC? He didn't do a good enough job for you against Missou?

I don't think the Texas or Notre Dame jobs are better than the LSU job. LSU is in the vaunted SEC baby located right smack in the heart of a recruiting Mecca. Not to mention, that both Texas and Notre Dame haven't produced any kind of continuity of consistent success for years.

In fact, I don't believe that Miles' success was due to Miles so much as I believe it was due to LSU. Had Bertman hired Jimbo Fischer instead of Miles, I believe LSU would have at least one or two more Natty's under its belt today. Just saying.

Maybe Herman wants to stay in College football. More of family atmosphere and he has a wife and young children who would probably like to be connected to community and loving fan base. NFL is cutthroat business you have so much less control of who your players are and the players make tons more money than coaches. There isn't a big discrepancy today in HC in college vs NFL

No, he can't go toe to toe with those guys. He is a good coach though, but a big step down from those three (you forgot Harbaugh).

He would be a good hire though. About like hiring coach O. (I would probably go with coach O at this point though if he proves to be a good coach over the course of the rest of the season). Herman is the only one out there that could maybe be in that class with Saban, Meyer and Harbaugh that we know of. (Whos to say that there isn't some hidden gem out there like Klieman or Fleck or someone like that though). Or that Fedora could make that step up. He's at least on the level of Fisher.

Yes, if we are just going to go off resume and nothing else then Fisher has to be your man. If we look a little closer past just resumes, then the picture gets a lot more cloudy. Your not going to get a home run hire off of just resumes, but you can get a safe pick Hiring Fisher makes the rest of the SEC yawn. Herman combined with LSU scares the shite out of them.

When you compare what both O and Jimbo have done as coaches, what leads you to believe O is remotely close to jimbo? I mean really, that's crazy talk.

like I said, Jimbo has the best resume of any coach that is possibly available for hire right now. Herman has no where near the resume of Fisher. Still would take Herman over Fisher. Personally myself, if coach O keeps doing what he is doing, I would take him over Fisher as well. Probably even take Fedora over Fisher. But don't get me wrong, Fisher would be a solid hire. He may or may not have more success at LSU than Miles had, but regardless he would be a solid coaching hire. I don't think we would be SEC west cellar dwellers with Fisher. Would probably consistently compete with Auburn, Ole Miss, and Arkansas for second place in the SEC west every year with a Fisher hire. That's not such a bad thing is it?
