If O goes 7-1 or 8-0 he's getting the job. Him and Dabo are very similar to each other, and O is probably the only guy who really can recruit toe to toe with Saban and Meyer for anybody in the country. Thats not just my opinion but national recruiting analyst have also said the same.

Jimbo could go toe to toe with Saban and Meyer as well.

My argument to that is what has Tom Herman really done? Honestly? He had some good offenses at Ohio State I get that. But he went to Houston and took over a team with some talent. Yes they are good but I am not on the hype train. Jimbo is established with a championship. I just dont thing Herman is yet.

His classes at Ole Miss were not very good. Freeze has recruited much better. So this is not a given at all.

Maybe he needs a winning HC behind him to be a good recruiter like so many other guys?

His classes were good for Ole Miss at the time. How do you think Houston Nutt won all those games the following 3 years because we all know what happened when Nutt got his players there. Ole Miss at the time of Orgeron was like LSU in the 90s they had facilities that lagged way behind and uncommitted boosters. Now they are all in.
Read the book meat market. Who do you think taught Freeze and Frank Wilson how to recruit?

I don't think Freeze can be used as a barometer of recruiting prowess. I think most of the college football world knows Freeze and co. engaged in shady recruiting. Tunsil admitted he was paid. It's a miracle Ole Miss is not a suspended program.

Thanks to Jameis Winston. Herman won the natty with a third string QB.

Really? Jimbo gets no credit as HC, but Herman gets all the credit as OC? Solid logic.

Let's not pretend O has the cleanest past from a recruiting perspective.

I'm not so sure about that

Given the state of the UF and Miami programs over his reign, I would be absolutely sure that he can't.

Yes. Just like you are doing the same with Jimbo, claiming he ONLY won a NC because of a single player. It's dumb logic used to fit a narrative.

Anyway, i would be happy with Jimbo or Herman. I think both would do great here. I think all Jimbo really needs is a change of scenery (and Aranda as dc) to get his heart back in the game. He seems completely over FSU. Kinda reminds me of how Miles looked during all his press conferences this season. 7+ years is a long time to be at the same gig.

Disregard anyone who scoffs at Jimbo Fisher... It's just silly talk. All experts will tell you that Jimbo Fisher is one of the best head coaches in CFB.

Is he THE best? That's certainly up for debate. But for anyone to act like Fisher is a mediocre/bad coach is just crazy, uninformed talk.

The better, more rational argument against Jimbo would be: He is a really good coach, has an excellent resume, would likely do well at LSU, but we can do better and LSU needs bigger change than Jimbo can bring.

Jimbo may not take the job, but there is no chance LSU hires Herman over Jimbo if Jimbo is willing to come. You only go to Herman after a coach like Jimbo tells you no.
