Seems like he's almost everyone's first choice, so are some teams waiting to pull the trigger pending what he does (and, maybe Harbaugh)?

lots of candidates are coaching this week. Lots of unsettled teams as well waiting to see how it plays out. Rams, Cowboys, maybe Chargers.

Rams are waiting on McV who will almost certainly "retire". That will be the worst job opening in the NFL from a football perspective.

If Chargers and Cowboys lose in the 1st round, both could come open.

I don't see any other openings.

Why would anyone get tired of coaching players who have no regard for authority, rules of society, or human life (in some cases)

Sounds like a dream job

He almost did last year and openly admits it.

1) TV is offering him 100 million + and he doesn't have to grind his arse off
2) Burned out, wants to make a huge amount of money at 36 years old and spend more time with his model wife, he can always come back at 40 years old and still be a really young coach
3) The Rams are going to stink on ice for the forseable future

They've got a ton of old players, on huge contracts, with an untenable cap situation, and absolute no draft picks.

They went all in, got their championship, and now are going to stink for a few years

TV was offering $100 million. Doubt they offer him that if he hangs it up now. All the No. 1 game analyst chairs are full and I doubt he gets that kind of money in the studio or as a No. 2 or lower game analyst.

He may still retire but he should have gone last year when some No. 1 spots were open and he was fresh off winning the Super Bowl.

Greg Olsen and Kirk Herbstriet aren't exactly cemented to their stops if they want somebody else. But I don't think he's actually that concerned with the tv money, this would be to get away from the cratering team.
