I’m getting a “Houston Nutt” vibe out of the fanbase.

Nutt came in after a horrific period in the 90s and gave the program some life in 1998, he rode that horse until he was on the hot seat a couple years later, but a portion of the fanbase loved Nutt because he was an “Arkansas guy”. We called them Huggers (nut huggers, har har ).

He fell arse-backwards into Matt Jones in 2003 and that combined with the previously mentioned fanbase saved his job.

Same story, hot seat a couple years later , portion of fanbase loves him for being an Arkansas guy, arse-backwards into McFadden.

It took airplane banners and a FOIA to get rid of him. Spidey senses leading to believe a repeat of history. He will probably be here until 2029.

Pittman is actually really likeable too and Nutt was not. I’d feel bad if I was the AD that had to fire Pittman

No, but he has to get it together next year. I don't expect 10-2 but let's eliminate the embarrassing losses to teams the quality of this years A&M and let's not play down to teams like liberty at home.

If we lose out, it would be warm but not firing warm.

If we beat Missouri and a bowl win, expectations at this point.

If we can win 2 of our last 3, not on it at all.

Nutt was like Gus at Auburn. Just when you wanted him gone he would frick around and win the west somehow

This ain't 2003 SEC though. everyone is pouring copious amounts of money and resources into their programs and Auburn is about to hire a way better coach than Harsin

The staff is also probably going to let a 4/5 star type QB out of LR walk to Ole Miss and 0lay for Kiffin without even really recruiting him hard.

He will probably be an NFL player b/c of his stature and arm and mind. Nutt would have never let that happen.
