He fell arse-backwards into Matt Jones in 2003 and that combined with the previously mentioned fanbase saved his job.

Same story, hot seat a couple years later , portion of fanbase loves him for being an Arkansas guy, arse-backwards into McFadden.

This ain't 2003 SEC though. everyone is pouring copious amounts of money and resources into their programs and Auburn is about to hire a way better coach than Harsin

Another Chad Morris hire? What have been so great about the last 3 hired?

Seems like Pitt Boss will always get extra time because of his personality.

Unfortunately, this may be a bad thing for Arkansas. I don't think he will ultimately work out.

Arkansas needs a technical, game day wizard type coach (preferably offense), because they will never get the premium talent. They can get very good talent, when rolling. These are hard to find, they just need to keep trying. Lane Kiffin type would kill it there.

Yep. The Bobby P model is really the only way to go at Arkansas, snd it's crystal clear over the last decade and 4 coaches.

If you're good there, you can pull top 20-ish type classes and pair that with a badass Offesnive scheme guy/qb developer and get those guys to play like top a top 10 team.

Pittman will never be that. He's probably a steady 6-6 type of coach, which is much better than Chad Morris, but nowhere near the danger level of coach as Petrino, Kiff, etc.

The only guy really out there in that mold right now is Hugh Freeze, but that is not going to happen.

You've got to get a guy who can win big games AND call a hell of an offense. Those guys just don't grow on trees, though

Lance Leipold is doing good at Kansas. How can that be? No one went after him but Kansas gave him a shot.

Are you sure? Will Auburn be successful this time around? I will wait and see first before you say about to hire a way better coach than Harsin.

I mean, we had a poor man’s Curley Hallman before him so we’ve been through much worse.

I don’t see how. Can’t really see them having a reason to change much at all really. He does let Kendall Briles gets really cute sometimes at some really awful times.

He should think about bringing Art on as an analyst, so when Kendall wants to run a triple reverse throwback on their own 12, there’s someone there to say, “No son, don’t do that.”

Oh, and just because your QB is a tank, maybe don’t work him like a rented mule, then expect him to make a bunch of throws with pinpoint accuracy.
