Profit share might prevent the current players from leaving allowing the NIL money to fund from transfer portal and high school. Now how much can they afford to do year to year is another story. I remember in the press conference leading up to our game against him, he mentioned how one of our defensive players receives more than a few of his players make combined. Maybe they can afford to pay guys but not in the way in which we could. And depending on the situation and the buy-in that could change. Just curious what they're willing to guarantee him in yearly NIL funds to work with.

Yep he is handcuffed by Lane KIffin, can't shake that apparently

To suggest LSU isn’t pursuing Lane Kiffin is silly. Lane may very well stay but he’s going to listen to LSU’s offer when the time is right, and there absolutely zero doubt LSU is currently working back channels. He is unquestionably the #1 target.

I have no clue if LSU will get Kiffin or Saban, but it has been fun seeing Ole Miss and Bama fans trickle onto this board trying to justify why neither will come to LSU.

It's OK to admit you are a little scared.

Its a coping mechanism. Just like saying in state talent doesn't matter anymore.

He ain't looking too handcuffed this year. Maybe it would be easier for him at LSU, but they beat us and are in the hunt when we were expecting to be this year.

Kiffin is definitely not handcuffed. But he seems content. There will be a marque job come open every year. Always happens. He will jump eventually, but LSU and Florida level jobs open up every year.

After the recent documentary on Kiffin, I also think he is more concerned with optics that the younger Kiffin was. Going down the road to coach a traditional rival? All things being even, he would probably opt for Florida. Or Penn State. Honestly, I think he relishes going back west and getting to play USC on a regular basis.

The writing has been on the wall.

His rosters are consistently ranked in the 20's. Not Top 20. 20-30.

LSU rosters are consistently Top 10, despite some of these really bad years of coaching.

There is, and looks like will almost always be, deeper rosters at LSU than Ole Miss.

You have to admit he has had a top five portal haul at Mississippi for two years running. They don't call him the portal king for nothing. But its scary what he could do with LSU's resources.

YES! What he has done there is remarkable. He gets the most out of what he has. What could he do with a situation that has proven to be a better spot to win a championship?

Both are top 10 jobs, so is this true?

The 2024 roster was their first “all in move” as a collective group. Had an incredible transfer class, the OL and DL was finally stocked, Dart was a veteran SEC QB who’s starting in the NFL…but they still lost Judkins to Ohio State and ended up with 3 loses.

Nail on the head, my friend. That’s the exact scenario that would get him thinking. The bigger brand. The better resources. The recruiting pull. The fans. The support.
He had it exactly how he wanted it and came up short in the end.
Yeah, he’s playoff bound, but I think ole miss is more of a midnight pumpkin in round one and not a chariot.

Everyone says that with NIL it’s opened things up, parity, yada yada.

But its just conjecture until a tier 2 team wins a national championship.

He's definitely out-performed expectations this year though.

Has he truly?
What ranked teams did they play besides Georgia, who they lost to?
LSU, who sucks, & OU, who they did beat.
They played 2 legit teams and went 1-1
Soft schedule, same as last year.

With that said, I would still love Lane at LSU

LSU is the only P5 school in a bigger state while OleMiss shares a much smaller state with MSU.

They do if they’re paid to play. It’s all about money, they don’t care who pays them. These guys will hit the portal and transfer for more money.

Better tell your AD to call Sexton about him then because outside of one of your boosters, nobody has called his office regarding Kiffin since Woodward did 2 days before the A&M game

Look, we have LSU folks on this board who do the same stupid shite but take this crap somewhere else.

You don’t think in state kids want to play for the hometown school?

Today's HS signers don't give a darn about loyalty to a State or a State University. It's about the money, playing time, and being somewhere close to where Mom and the Bro's can see him play.
