Well one of those assistants is ND's next HC.

This could be the best thing that has happened to him. He gets to do a nice reset as a head coach. One other thing is you would feel obligated to offer guys you hired an opportunity to move with you as a courtesy. So now he can start fresh.

He did not have as much time to plan his exit as Riley did.

Saban’s staff didn’t follow when he left Michigan State.

If you look at his ND staffs’ biographies you’ll see a lot of them played for him and /or coached for him at Cincinnati before joining him at ND. Or played for him at ND. So it’s nothing against him personally. They are just trying to figure things out in a very fluid situation.

No... Notre Dame is keeping basically their entire staff (minus Kelly) with a chance to make the playoffs this year.

LSU needs spent big money to hire best staff as possible. LSU made a commitment to Kelly. LSU should go all the way.

absolutely not. freeman is becoming the HC at Notre Dame, who by the way may very well play in the playoffs in a few weeks.

rees in a ND guy through and through.

im not even slightly worried about it.

No. His DC became HC and his OC played QB for ND. I didn’t really want Rees anyway

No... with the caveat of unless he doesn't find anybody worth a damn in the month of Dec.

Is the premise premature? Yes.
Why? ND assistants are potentially up for a CFB playoff appearance. They are going to want to finish the job. Until they find that out, they are staying put. This is in addition to several of the other reasons already posted.

And Rees for sure, probably several others, made promises to the players they were there to help them finish the season. There's no way a former player, a captain (i.e. a leader), and QB no less, doesn't make that promise when there's still so much at stake for THE SCHOOL. And right behind that school loyalty is personal loyalties.

I don't know if you know this, but they are in the tail end of their season playing in a Major bowl / waiting to find out if they are in the playoffs!

The coordinators could coach ND's game without issue.

THEY weren't given 10M dollars by LSU and are responsible for closing out LSU's recruiting class.

We might very well get one or more, but I'd expect that after ND's season is over.

Coach Kelly will have a pretty good idea as to who will eventually come, but with coaching turnover, all bets are off.

No and not surprised. One was named the head coach and the other went to ND. I don’t know why people thought they would act come to LSU

Also not true. Defensive Coordinator Bo Pelini was hired from Oklahoma.
