Is Durkin currently the top DC available with Robinson taking over duties there?

Was hoping Aranda would pop up but who else am I missing that fielded a top 30 defense this year in a big conference?

Tom Allen (fired Indiana HC) should get some Power 5 looks at DC

Is Robinson taking DC duties? If so, CBK needs to jump on Durkin

Anybody think the optics of Durkin and Kelly together?

Honestly don’t care about optics. Just want an aggressive defense that isn’t sitting back for 5 seconds after the snap to try to diagnose the play. Cover 0 80% of the time like we used to do during Chavis years over the crap we saw this year 10 times out of 10

I would take Tom Allen above all of them. That landshark defense we had that was so good in 2014 was actually him running the show. He just didn’t have the title. Once he left our defense started fading and it still hasn’t recovered almost a decade later

I forgot he was on that staff.

Allen would be good and he probably stays long term so no disruption of leaving
Durkin would work as well

Currently not an on field staffer? No
Jim Leonhard is the top guy
Then Geoff Collins would be next
As Florida’s DC in 2016, Collins had the Gators as the 4th best efficiency defense in the country
Collins then got the Temple head job having good success there before completely crashing at Georgia Tech

Isn’t everyone technically available?

Jimmy Lake if he'll come back to college coaching.

Then you don't want Durkin. He loves him some 3 man rushes on 3rd and long situations.

Scott Symons at SMU is a great DC

With all the defensive talent a&m has Durkin really wasn’t good against any offense with a pulse this year.
