He hasn't coached in college since 2000 and hasn't even been a coordinator at the college level.

He is not leaving the Steelers unless he shits the bed next year and if Roethlisberger retires he gets a mulligan.

He's an overly successful NFL coach. He wouldn't even have to work that hard to recruit. What's the downside? He would kill it at LSU.

He's an excellent teacher and motivator. He replaces defensive stars without missing a beat. He managed a .500 season a few years ago with a literal practice squad on offense. Huge name who wouldn't even have to try to recruit.

He has NEVER had a losing record in 14 full seasons of coaching and won a Super bowl. He’s still only 49 years old. He would recruit extremely well here. I’m not saying he would be my top choice, or even saying it’s that realistic, but it would be a home run hire, that would get a lot of attention.

They were talking about him today. Something about him not wanting to make transition to new quarterback and the long term commitment that Steelers expect when you go through these changes. Is maybe wanting to “retire” to college. Also, expected to be good because he can handle deva players and your gonna expect more of that with nil.

I don’t think it would be the best hire we could make, but to be clear you are asking what to love about one of the most successful NFL coaches of the past 20 years? At the school that markets itself as NFLSU?

The Rooney's will pay whatever it takes to keep Tomlin in Pittsburgh. He's not coming to Baton Rouge.

We don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting Tomlin.

All of this. If you can somehow get Mike Tomlin, you get him and figure it out from there

Thank God all of you drama queens are here to educate me on his greatness!

In all seriousness, I know and understand who he is and his accomplishments and I woukd be all in on hiring him to head my NFL team. HOWEVER, this is college football and all of you geniuses don't hesitate to discuss the differences between college and pro.

Here you go since you apparently don't know his coaching history:

The NFL is where you find out who can really coach football, and not just stack blue chippers on top of blue chippers year after year. As great as Saban is, he ain't a pimple on Mike Tomlin's arse as far as pure coaching ability.

Don't forget, she tried to coach the Dolphins, and FELL FLAT ON HER MOTHERFLUCKING FACE. In general, the rosters are equal in the NFL. How often does Saban coach against a team with equal or better talent??? And when he does, what is his record? I know for a fact it was 15-17 in the NFL, where the men are separated from the boys, and that will get your arse fired.

Tomlin is top 20 all-time in the history of the NFL in regard to winning percentage.
You combine that with LSU, which to an extent, recruits itself and add the name recognition of Tomlin. These kids have grown up with him being the HC of the Picksburgh Stillers, and on the in home visit, momma will get all wet with Tomlin being in the house.

Tomlin would MURDER IT at LSU, and he is clearly the top pick for this job if he wants it.

Tomlin is a good coach. He would do well here. Needs to surround himself though with great recruiters though.
