Enough with that stupid shite. Argue that we should have had more than 2 choices but once Texas wanted Herman, that was OVER.

Herman ran away from having to play Saban every year as fast as he could

Could we have at least made him decide?

He did decide. If you believe the story he had a deal in hand. But he said hold up let's see what the school I've been waiting for and projected to go to for 2 years has to say. Why can't LSU fans understand that he wanted the Texas job? The worst kept secret in college football.

I feel like the "dream job" thing is made up. Has he ever intimated that?

Make him say no, not be a pussy and stomp off during negotiations.

You make him choose. And you make it hard for him to turn it down.

If there is one thing that you can count on in the face of any LSU failure, it's that the fatalistic contingent of the fan base will faithfully come forward to argue that the failure was unavoidable and beyond human culpability. So Louisiana.

Fine, but make Texas pay out the arse for him. Instead, we pet them get Herman for a bargain.

We didn't try to find out. Alleva bailed the minute Texas was mentioned.

Also, if you're so butthurt that shite got leaked during the game and you're so sure that it's a bidding war you can't win why not stick it to Texas and make them pay through the nose?

Alleva looks even more like a fool considering Texas is paying Herman $1million more than we are paying O.

Everyone with a pulse said beforehand, if Texas offers he is going there.

This issue isn't that we didn't get Jimbo or Herman...both of them were obvious longshots the way it played out. The issue is that Alleva threw his hands up in the middle of the night and offered O the job while he was still in bed because he was too emotional to deal with being spurned by his top 2 choices. We could've hired O next Saturday after we interviewed the many other coaches that are more qualified than O to gauge their interest.

He was never coming to LSU. Texas had him in hand after they lost to Kansas.

I think when the decision was made to fire Miles after a loss to a VERY GOOD Wiscy team, and a very good AU team, Alleva damn fricking well should have had ink dry on a letter of intent. Otherwise you do not fire Miles! You simply explore options until that signature ultimately appears.

5-6 million a year is a bargain? So paying a coach that hasn't done shite, more than coaches that have won a championship, is a good idea? fricking kidding? 6 million for an unproven coach is seriously fricking retarded. Only a retard would think this is a good idea.

So you are ok that it took months for Alleva to figure that out?

At the time we played those games, Wiscy was supposed to be a middling Big Ten team and Auburn was supposed to be the worst team in the SECw.

Both those losses seemed much better in hindsight as the season went along.
