That was my understanding. But after last night and speaking to some a coach will be announced by Monday night. So no to nfl.

Why do you keep saying a coach is signed? If we had a signed coach we would have heard after the game.

LSU can’t land Kiffin. Akin to Jimbo, he is recruiting too well. Specifically Arch Manning is likely a rebel.

It’s unreal to me.

People melted down when Alleva went lazy and hired O.

Now people are melting because Woodward tried to pry an elite coach from a blue blood, and because that may have fallen through, it’s time to melt down anyway?

We have some of the best fans, but we also have a large contingent of fans who just want to melt down more than anything else.

What's wrong with campbell if kiffin and aranda don't come?

1. He's going to be super expensive

2. He is a "culture" guy which is valuable for a little sister program but may not cut it at a school like LSU where we have to be elite in a lot of things

3. He has never shown he wants an elite offense, which, like Stoops, is a concern. He's programed himself to win at a little sister school as best he can and not find the most elite/efficient way to coach a team

4. With the issues in 2-3, you see a lot of early season losses to inferior teams b/c his teams improve over the year. Again, that's great for a little sister program but a HUGE red flag for an elite job. We have to be super elite week 1.

All of that for something like $10M/year and a contract where he can't get fired? SOUNDS GREAT

Woody needs to get the guy who shuts him down every year just out of spite

Maybe there’s a chance Riley doesn’t have an offer yet.. and gets one today.

Woodward may have waited until last night to see where OU ends up

The main target should always have been Aranda. SW isn’t as smart as he thinks. I mean he hired Jimbo—and that’s not working out too great.

If he backed himself into a corner so that we have to hire Mark Stoops, then he fricked up.

I'm not melting. I've made a version of this thread multiple times during this process.

As long as it’s not stoops or BoB, I’m good.

If Kiffin and Aranda really do have deals that make it hard for them to move, then...who else is there?

Giving him time to let his team know himself.

Most teams improve throughout the year.

Who said he would get 10 mil.

He has built up 2 shitty programs.
Where are you getting that he doesn't want to have an elite offense?

His oc is pretty good. I think calling him a culture guy is a cop out.
The guy knows how to build and sustain a program. His teams play hard, detailed football just like aranda.

They are in every game they play. No blowouts.

He makes 4 mil at iowa state and turned down 68mil from the lions so money isn't everything to him.

No way he would get close to 10mil.

I should have clarified- not overall recruiting, but he has an opportunity to land Arch. That may in and of itself be a reason to stay put.

We can't lay an early egg every year.

He turned down the NFL last year. We're not getting him without paying a fricking shitload of money. He's waiting for the right spot/salary. People think the Bears may go after him this offseason. You want LSU competing with the NFL? When Campbell know we offered Riley 8/96+?

When has he had an elite offense?

Build a mediocre program? Sure. I said he's a culture guy.

He hasn't sustained shite. He had one flash in the pan year and slid back into little sister territory in 2021. He was supposed to sustain his 2020 momentum into this year but almost lost to UNI, then DID lose to Iowa...then Baylor. They finished 7-5

If Woodward believed offense and a QB guru was best for the future of the program

Only a moron would think that. People who understand management know that what is required is a great leader and manager. That’s all. It doesn’t matter whether he is an offensive, defensive, recruiting or badmitten guru. And if you want evidence of that, how many national championships were won by offensive “gurus” in the last 20 years?

Les Miles?
Nick Saban?
Dabo Sweeney?
The Ohio State geek with the red sweater vest?
Gene Chizak?
Ed Orgeron?

We have Jimbo Fisher (if he’s a guru) and Urban Meyers. That’s it.
