How many of the posters, that have done nothing but bitch, moan, and cry over the hire, will claim they supported O from day one?

Probably the same amount that will claim they always hated the hire if he goes 4-8 and gets fired next year.

Not me. I'll be shocked for sure but I'm honest.

I'm both bitching and supporting him. I don't think we're going to fall off a cliff and I think he'll win as much as we've been winning at a minimum, while still recruiting at a high level.

However, the search was a farce and our athletic director is weak, incompetent, and in no way fit to lead the department.

I think Saban would have trouble winning the NC with our team next year, we are just losing too many starters. If O did it, more power to him, I would definitely admit I was wrong about him.

I hope so. I'll agree though that if he falls flat I will admit I was part of the problem in wanting him to get the job.

If he doesn't win the SEC or NC next year, will you promise not to start any shitty threads such as this anymore?

Throw in the awful schedule, too. 2017 would be rough under any coach.

I believe the bigger concern is that he does exactly what Miles did and wins just enough on talent alone to keep him around for several years never really winning anything but everybody is happy enough being in the hunt. Why even fire Miles for that? He was "one of y'all", too.

Do people actually think this is a realistic scenario?

I don't expect much honesty from these folks. The we'll be fine crowd and the really want him crowd will just make excuses about no hire is certain to succeed. Not admit the hire is a crazy long shot based on his history.

Most of the hate is for the administration not O. I think it's pretty fair to say that most everybody here loves O. But he should not be the head ball coach of the LSU Fighting Got Damn Tigers.

Right, this is precisely what I'm forecasting. 9-3 type seasons, no titles. IT would be best for everyone if O either dominated or failed miserably. At least there would be consensus.
