Bro, they may not be our MAIN rival or a historic rival like Auburn, but they are a rival...We've played them annually for like 50 years...They're a rival.

I don't think you understand how bad of a hire Juluke is for y'all.

You'll be wanting him out after his first year. That was a terrible hire for Billy Bob at a premiere SEC school.

Ok, we're both top programs in the same conference that hate each other, that have to play each other every year and often times with national title hopes on the line, that have two very tough stadiums to play in, with fans that are known to be raucous, recruit against each other constantly, and we both hired new head coaches and staff at the same time.

Phew, that was easier than not just worrying about the semantics of the word "rivals" just for time's sake, thanks.

just out of general curiosity, i guess since it has been so long since Juluke was here, but why is he such a bad hire? or why is he going to be so bad? i honestly can't remember anything really bad that he did here

We need someone to teach runningbacks, his runningbacks at ULL looked pretty good...Louisiana recruiting is almost irrelevant, we don't play in Louisiana, we play in the high school athlete Mecca that is Florida...If he can teach runningbacks, he'll be fine.

Yeah the most important job of a RBs coach on a CFB team is coaching running backs

You haven’t done something good in almost 20 years. Why would anyone think this will end any differently?

I think most LSU fans hate Florida more than Bama.

Perhaps in some circles, but not in my experience. Florida is at most #2-3 on the list for most people I know and sometimes lower, depending where one puts Auburn, Ole Miss, and aTm.

Bama, by a significant margin, is at least most of my generation’s most hated just based on conversations over the years. Not just in the SEC either, in all of CFB. I don’t care about this “cheer for the conference” mindset with them. I’d sooner (albeit begrudgingly) root for USC, Texas, Ohio State, hell even Notre Dame. Cincinnati has my 100% support at the moment as a result.

Point is, he can throw a rock from the roof of the Heavener Complex and hit a high school RB (or anything else) that'll be playing in the UA or Army all American game...He just needs to be a competent coach and we'll be fine.

Jalukes deal is that he could recruit New Orleans well. That ain't happening with Wilson at the flagship.

I mean he could do really well recruiting Florida with all the talent, but Louisiana just got closed down.

Literally the only thing he'd ever have to do to be successful.

He was in charge for one cycle. He missed on Travis Etienne and Cam Akers.

His major signings were Racey McMath and Lowell Narcisse, along with Clyde Edwards-Helaire who committed pretty much on the spot.

For a guy whose job is 90 percent recruiting, that is very unimpressive.

Not really. He needs to have the talent grow at UF. All the talent in the world won’t do well if not utilized properly. Look at last 2 years of LSU.

I don't get it either. Florida is our annual East game and it is the game outside of Bama that makes me most nervous every year. I grade much of our season on how we compare and compete with UF and even though we have largely owned the gators for the better part of a decade, I still am on edge every time we meet.

Nightmares from the 90's I guess.

As someone who lives here, I can tell you that is a lie.
The hate is there 365. Biggest crowds at B H Griffin are when LSU comes to town.
