Says they want to go after OSU coach Ryan Day. The AD was a former OSU Asst AD.

Addazzio would be a big name coordinator hire if true.

What is the ceiling for BC? Because I feel like Addazio had a playing style that fit them and that there wasn't a lot of room for improvement there.

yeah this is the type of shite that gets programs into terrible situations

even if Day is legit and leads to a slight improvement, he's going to leave and leave them in shambles

Addazio has been average which is fantastic at a program like BC.

Has gone 7-6 in 4 out if 6 seasons and is currently 7-5.

Only bad season is 3-9 in his 3rd year.

Also, wouldn't Ryan Day be a candidate to replace CUM at THE Ohio State if come leaves at the end of the season?

He may well be the next coach at OSU, so good luck with that.

Seems like an odd move, but BC hasn't been able to get over that 7-win hump with him.

Losing the FSU game like they did was a real gut-punch to their season.

Tom O'Brien was winning 9 games a year there when he left them for NC State. They can do better than 7-6

Addazzio is a good coach but yeah losing to FSU then getting stomped by Syracuse was a horrible finish.

I mean at this point you know what you’re getting with Addazio.

It’s crazy how many 7-6 (4-4) seasons he’s had

Weren't they Big East then though? ACC is a more difficult conference, and probably (though not entirely sure) more travel than they had in the Big East. That probably affects football less than basketball though.

His last two 9-3 campaigns were in the ACC. Also, come on. The ACC is not some murderers row. It's really not much better than the old Big East was.

I don't think the ACC is any great shakes.

But they only played 7 conference games. 2 were against bottom feeders (Rutgers and Temple), 2 were against powers (Miami, Va Tech), and 3 were against similarly cyclical programs (Syracuse, Pitt, WVU).

The landscape is also just different now than it was 15 years ago with even more talent further away from Boston.

When he called plays at UF it was pretty much HB dives, QB draws, slants and screens. And it worked for him because of the talent of the 09 UF offense. The first time he went up against a team with equal talent and coaches with half a brain he got his arse handed to him by Bama in the SEC championship.

ETA: wonderful oline coach though

Didn’t they have some good teams in the Matt Ryan era?

Yes, but that was more than 10 years ago.

I'd hire Addazzio as OL immediately. Get Addazzio as OL and find a power-spread OC and you'll see a drastic improvement for LSU's offense in '19.
