No limit I don't believe. I assume Woodward eventually makes the call on what he's willing to spend.

No limit, just depends on how much money you want to spend.

No limit, but I’m sure there’s a point of diminishing returns on some of this stuff, no idea why that point would be though.

There is no limit, which is why you saw Alabama bullying the market with 100 analysts while other schools had but a few.

Coach O is closing that gap but it's a huge loophole right now being exploited only by the most committed programs.

Someone needs to remind me what these analysts can and can’t do, especially regarding coaching the players. Seemed Munoz was basically the QB coach?

They can coach the coaches but not the players. I think it’s pretty understood that no one actually follows those rules though.

I’m not 100% certain, but I believe they can do everything a normal coach can on campus - coach on field, recruit, etc.

It was said, Faulk was the one to seal the deal with Emery after the Georgia game in 2018.

Off-campus, I think they would have to get a special waiver from the NCAA to recruit. Probably need certain circumstances like a shortage of coaching staff or something to arise for that to happen.

I could definitely see this being the case as well.

... After some research

quote:

the NCAA limit of 10 assistant coaches and 55 other people with various titles — including two state troopers and 13 with the title of “analyst.”

quote:

An analyst is sort of an assistant to assistants, helping out the assistant coaches in a given program who, by NCAA rule, may not number more than 10. He cannot actively coach, but he helps the active coaches work more efficiently by doing some of the stuff that clogs their wretched days.

Per my brother,” our analysts don’t coach but they talk loudly to themselves in meetings”.

If I remember correctly, Burrow said Munoz was in charge of pass protection schemes. I would assume Jorge researched opponent film and reviewed pass protection calls. Again I assume JM and JB spent a lot of time in the film room together.

They do analyst work. They gather data (through research/film study) and find trends or weak points that can be exploited in opponents and provide that data to the coaches. I read an article (or watched an interview) where Brady discussed what Munoz and the analyst staff did for him.

Not on the contract side. At some point your AD can say no, that's too much money.

. He doesn’t say who can be hired but he doesn’t controls the pool of money that is used to hire these guys. It’s up to O to manage that pool of money. If he needs more he has to go ask Scott’s permission to spend more.
