Because the deal with Jimbo has been in place from the start. Woody hasn’t asked to anyone else. Nothing to leak.

Woodward and Kiffin worked out a deal even before it was announced that Ed O would step down as the head coach of LSU football after the season.
Hence, the deal is already done and there is nothing more to announce but who it is and the details until after the A&M game.
I mean, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that Lane Kiffin is easily the most qualified coaching candidate to be the next head coach at LSU and Lane Kiffin will also not cost LSU an arm and a leg.
Not to mention that Woodward is not stupid enough to permit Lane Kiffin to remain at Ole Miss.
Hence, the deal is already done and there is nothing more to announce but who it is and the details until after the A&M game.
I mean, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that Lane Kiffin is easily the most qualified coaching candidate to be the next head coach at LSU and Lane Kiffin will also not cost LSU an arm and a leg.

Who has a better offensive mind than Lane Kiffin? Out of the coaches under consideration, which one is as good of a recruiter as Lane Kiffin? Which candidates have been more successful than Lane Kiffin?
What's Kiffin's biggest faux pas? He quit Tennessee after only one year, to become the head coach of USC and where he cut his teeth on coaching. I don't blame Lane Kiffin one bit for leaving that train wreck at Tennessee for USC. Meanwhile, he did eventually end up losing his job at USC, but that was due to youth and the very harsh terms of probation that Kiffin had to deal with.
Nonetheless, Kiffin like many other coaches was rehabilitated at Nick Saban's rehabilitation center, and since he has moved back to the head coaching ranks, he has been very successful on his march to the top of the coaching profession.

Most leaks about coaching searches come from people that want the info out. Woody chooses not to let anyone outside of a close circle know therefore no info gets leaked.

For any given candidate there are 3 people who need to know what's going on. Woodward, the coach, and their agent. Everybody who is a serious candidate uses Sexton. If you don't tell anyone, things don't leak unless the agent or coach wants things to leak.

I think a lot of weaker ADs purposely float names out to test public opinion. Others are not savvy enough to know who can and cannot be trusted with information.
Woodward is one of the few who a- doesn’t need public validation of his decisions and b- is really good at understanding politics and who he should trust

Probably a few more in the loop than this (Tate and counsel come to mind), but Woody’s sister lives in Baldwin County and jokes that Nanette or even Woody’s sons have no idea on the search.
