How did you reach this conclusion? I've never seen any evidence to say this could be true.

Texas is the best job in the country, arguably, certainly top 3.

Michigan isnt a top 10 job at this point IMO.

Texas didn't have the sack to fire Mack Brown and tell him to get the hell out. Therefore, they lost Saban who would have probably left. They pulled a AU - Tubberville and didn't want to look bad.

Lesson to learn - if you think you have your new guy - fire your old one immediately. You can't keep secrets anymore.

Its simple. People in the know at Texas couldn't keep their mouths shut. If they had Saban would be in Austin.

The prodigal son, who once sat in Bo Schembechler's chair as a high school kid, having the audacity to say he was checking to see how it felt, because one day it would be his.

That is how.

Because at Michigan, he doesn't have to recruit against Sumlin and the SEC. Nor does he have to put up with the LHN or the pompous attitude of the Longhorns.

And the Texas' program is more of a mess both with talent and organization than Michigan. It's worse than most realize.

Seriously?

Have you seen some of the Meeechigan posters on this board? To hear them tell it, UM invented the sport.

IMO, Mack Brown lurking in the background had to be a turnoff for some.

I think this is the correct answer.

Okay, guy. Finebaum wishes he had the access he proclaims to have. This stuff has gone on for 8 years now, and you folks have been wrong every step of the way.

2 national championships since 200, 3 appearances. Fertile recruiting grounds, resources, and Money.

Yeah who would want that.

Not really the same considering Harbaugh attended and played at UM. Saban has had very very little coaching experience in Texas. Outside of that very very small time in Texas as a coach, he was up north or in the southeast.
