You guys can think what you want about Alleva, but you can bet that representatives of the TAF have been talking with Fisher's agent since the day Miles was fired. After the way things went down last year, they have every reason to keep everything as quiet as possible. I think Alleva would use them as a go-between to be as careful as possible about drawing attention. I think it's a very safe bet that decision makers on both sides already know the money and terms it will take. After Saturday, let the PUBLIC games begin.

There could be be some back channeling between TAF and Fisher's agent. Many of those guys also know fisher as well. Wouldn't be shocked.

You are saying what I'm saying only you classify it as being close where I suggest that being at the stage where only TAF has been involved means things aren't very far along. In fact it should be assumed that Sexton hasn't even begun to make his real monetary demands yet.

I would disagree. If there have been discussions over the course of two months, then the terms and general salary guidelines would already be out there. Even if they were just talking basic frameworks, LSU would already have enough to know what it will take to make the hire happen.

The only thing about S/S is that they never break any news. Someone else is always first to report something on their board.
Also have to believe if there is true misdirection going on with the hire, the info the media types are putting out there serves a purpose.

No, but they are just relaying what they are being told. Did it ever cross our minds that they are being fed what the real powers that be want them fed? If it they are unwittingly part of a smokescreen I am sure they don't mind if it means the best for LSU in the long run. Shea and Sonny on multiple times have stated disclaimers that they are not playing favorites or conjecturing - just repeating what they have been told and just letting out what has been cleared for public consumption.

Agreed - don't be scared of Texas - Herman might end up there, or maybe he wants to work inSEC and challenge the best week in and week out, working w Aranda. If he says no, so be it, but stay in the game!
