If LSU is not pursuing Herman it means one of 2 things, both good for LSU:
1. We have Our guy (Jimbo)
Or
2. We have our guy (Herman) and putting up a smokescreen so he can finish his season

Alleva made up his mind that it was going to be ed orgeron, then O lost a couple games, and now he's scrambling to find someone that actually should be hired.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Orgeron is still considered if we beat A&M.
Alleva will try to lure in Jimbo, will shy away from the price, and, since we reportedly never offered Herman, will ultimately settle on Orgeron.
Then the reversion of this program to its 1990s form will be complete.

We know we can't outbid Texas for Herman, and our focus as a result has been Jimbo. But, we don't have anything locked down and in fact just found out the asking price for Jimbo to consider a move.

Regardless, I feel very confident we've got Jimbo and have had him for a while. Of course we don't care what Herman does and aren't "pursuing" him... We've got our guy.
Whether Herman should have been our target over Jimbo is a seperate discussion. Jimbo was our target and we got him.

What are you basing this on? I haven't read anything that makes me think that. In fact, the things I've read make me think that LSU / Jimbo are just getting to the point of talking about money.

Nah... LSU and Jimbo have been talking for months.
Is it possible Jimbo stays at Florida State? Sure, but I am 100% confident LSU and Jimbo have had many many discussions about his possible move to LSU. We are in the final stages of the process, not the beginning.
