To be clear, I want them both gone today. However, if there are financial restraints, I’d rather boot Scott Linehan.

Why you ask? I believe there is a shred of legitimacy to having no off-season, mismatched personnel, and an adjustment to demeanor and coaching style from Aranda to Bo. Is that an excuse for the worst defense LSUs ever had? frick no, but it’s not entirely nothing. Plus, Bo has proven to be a good college DC.

Linehan on the other hand has been a retread bum everywhere he’s been. His role is a waste also. What does he offer? Obviously the symmetry between Ensminger and Brady simply doesn’t exist between E and Linehan. He also doesn’t offer anything in recruiting and we probably already have his replacement on staff in Callaway.

I suspect the search for a new DC started before the last 2 debacles on defense. Also think Linehan gone .

Linehan doesn’t call play. Pelini does.

The offense isn’t the reason LSU had its worst season since 1999, the defense is.

The “not a full offseason” excuses are just that: excuses.

Name another top tier CFB program that cratered this year because of the abnormal offseason. The combination of O having his head up his arse, and Pelini not knowing how to defend modern offenses is what got LSU to 5-5, not Linehan.

LMAO, no. When your defense is ranked in to triple digits, then the DC is first to go. I’d rather win games 9-6, then have to continue watching our defense give up 600 plus yards against teams who we should blow out.

We finished 15th in passing offense and 35th overall. 39th in scoring offense.

We finished 124th in total defense and 98th in scoring defense.

That’s a wild take. We aren’t even actually sure that Linehan does anything. Sure he’s at best a waste of money. But Bo is actively hurting us FOR A FACT.

K buddy. Not that 2019 vs 2020 personnel has anything to do with this.

Of course

But go back to the Missouri game when we were full strength. Did that look like a well prepared and in sync redzone effort at the end of the game?

Did the defense make adjustments the entire first 6 or 7 games?

They should’ve had a short yardage package for Finley (under center) earlier in the year

This, along with inability to set the edge and no coverage concepts of passing on receivers were the biggest failings on the coaching staff this season.

As for O, he regressed with time outs and clock management. Both of these have nothing to do with personnel loss, but likely everything to do with Brady or Munoz losses.

Penn State went from 11-2 to 4-5
Michigan went from 9-4 to 2-4
Baylor went from 11-3 to 2-7

We are ranked 15th in the nation in passing offense.

And none of them lost what LSU lost this past offseason.

Yea. Beyond “pandemic” excuses, it’s hard to make any case for Pelini to not be fired. All the stats are against him.

But you can make a pretty fricking strong argument that Linehan and Ensminger had a great year. Certainly room for improvement, offense was mostly a strength,

Linehan hasn't been involved in the play calling for several weeks.

Yeah I don’t think it’s necessarily crazy.

On defense we were running a 4-3 with personnel recruited for a 3-4. In the miss state and mizzou games despite how many yards given up we had some key take aways and couldn’t put the game away. Miss state in particular. We got two straight turnovers in the fourth to give all the momentum to take the lead and the offense couldn’t do it.

Florida have up a ton of yards but the difference in the game wasn’t the offense it was the turnovers.

Ole miss we should have put away in the first half with the take aways we got.

The d line and defensive backs improved drastically as the year went on indicating pelini was getting them adjusted.

I don’t necessarily want to keep pelini but I can find glimpses of usefulness whereas linehan??
