I think the fact that Linehan was last a college coach in 2001 should be the issue. Also, he's overrated as an offensive coach historically.

I just don't personally see anything he really brings to the table. He was never an innovator. Never really developed a QB in the NFL. Our WRs looked awful to start the season, and we were downright awful on 3rd downs, which is where he supposedly calls plays.

His hire also made no sense. You went from a young, energetic guy in Brady with a ton of potential to an old, washed up guy. Brady was innovative and new. Linehan is stale.

The two coaches that need to go for sure are Linehan and Cregg. Both simply have no history of player development.

I think the question is will E retire. If he does, we should let the new OC pick their assistants.
