Hiring Arnett over promoting Raymond would be idiotic.

Arnett is about as bad of a hire as you could have. Why not just promote Raymond? The move just makes no sense to me.

Yes, hiring a proven good dc is much worse than hiring a guy who has never been a dc.

Does Raymond want to be a DC? I think that is the first question to ask.
Also, hiring a proven DC and play-caller over a position coach/recruiting coordinator makes perfect sense.

It was mentioned by a insider on 247 that Raymond doesn’t want and is not asking to be a DC.

Giving Raymond the DC spot would take him away from what he does best, coach DBs and Recruit. You would essentially have to take away his recruiting coordinator title due to work load. Who is going to replace one of the best recruiters for that job?
