It definitely one of the easiest when it come to recruiting. Makes the job much more easy to focus on other things a lot more

Greg McElroy is wrong.

I think that was proven when LSU had a stocked cupboard and hired an average at the time big 12 coach

When you think that LSU let Miles stay for 11 yrs, and paid him what they did . . . . he's spot on, in terms of a coaches dream job

Anyone that would say that is a homer

USC
Texas
Alabama
Michigan
Notre Dame
Ohio State

All better jobs than LSU

Could make a case for Florida, Georgia, FSU and several others if we wanted to.

Notre Dame isn't a better job. 30 years ago maybe. But not now.

The things that made those jobs the best back in the "good ole days" are non factors now. A shred of intellectual honesty would tell you LSU is a top 5 job. It's natural recruiting footprint is better than Alabama, and certainly better than the likes of Michigan and Notre Dame. It's a top 5 program financially on every available metric.

USC, Michigan, and Notre Dame are not better jobs than LSU. This isnt 1970, mate.

look at their current coaches, then look in the mirror and ask if you truly believe you can make a case for them .

It's the only open job in the country. So of course it's the best.

The bolded are definitely not better than LSU and the underlined is not really either.

They were in a national championship game 4 years ago. Still recruit nationally at a high level, play a diverse schedule every season, and have one of the big 3 public networks broadcasting their games. "Notre Dame" still carries a lot of weight. I doubt many would call Alabama a top 5 job in 2006, but they lured an NFL coach away. Don't kid yourself into thinking that's not an elite job

So what makes LSU a better job than USC, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia?

Let me guess. "No competition for in state recruiting"

Lets not act like Notre Dame is the only team on tv every week. Notre Dame isnt what it once was.

They lured Saban away? Not really.
