No. The Cowboys are playing much looser this year, because Parcells isn't there.
It's the same thing with Saban. Sometimes guys are so worried about not screwing up that they play very tight. There needs to be a balance between walking on eggshells for a coach and letting the inmates run the asylum. I think we all know where Saban and Miles fit on that spectrum. Somewhere in between those 2 is exactly what we need.

I can't see where anyone gets any idea of what Saban could do with a program that is already established. He's never really had one. He's coached precisely one season with a program that was at or very close to the top, and that was the 2004 team. And that was a disappointing year but it was not like it was a disaster. And it was only one year. I don't think that is enough to say that he can sustain a program, but I also don' think it is enough to say he can't. I think it is an unknown.
But on the other hand, there are maybe two or three coaches in the country who have actually proven they have the ability to do better with a top flight program (Tressel, Bob Stoops . . . that's about it, now that Bowden has lost it; well, besides Miles, of course). Spurrier's teams fell off a bit after his National Championship season, too. Of course he did come back to have some very good seasons after that, but he never had another National Championship team, or even a team that played for one.
I would rather keep Miles than have Saban. But if Miles is not an option, Saban is probably not a bad second choice.

He could, it's possible. So far though, he has continued to preach even when things are going well, which wears thin.
I never said anything about Parcel's relationships with players. Everywhere Parcell's goes, he leaves, and then they keep winning (unless the next guy jacks it up). but he never stays.
I don't know anymore than you do if Parcell's would be 11-1, but we could both see how tired and frustrated he got last year. He had done his job, the team was ready to move on.
People on here keep saying 'get over it, Saban is awesome and you'll love him again once he's back'. What I say is why can't you people 'get over it', and maybe at least consider, just a bit (it won't kill you, i promise), that he did what he is best at (again, extremely well), that he's not what we need now.

That's a good point. My personal feeling, along with what i was hearing about the team and admin's feeling of Saban in '04, is where I draw my own hypothesis. It is an unknown. I personally just think we should go in a different direction. This is without considering the clusterfrick that is saban constantly changing jobs and him only being at bama for a year. Tack that stuff on and i'm really turned off.

Richest place in the world...citizens get paid just for being citizens, they import peasants to do all their scrub jobs(retail, fast food). Very interesting place.
ETA: Just looked some things up to refresh my memory...they have 420,000 citizens, each worth at least 17 million. Their "peasant" workers, or imported workers average about 62,000 a year.

I really don't want to lose Coach Miles but fully understand his motivation....But I do agree...we need someone that will CONTINUE to build with what is now!!! I just don't see Saban being that man.

Why would he leave the NFL gig when has a team with promise?
if i am not mistaken .... jack del rio's wife is from here or has family in the area or something along those lines and has been trying to get a job here (this area NOT lsu) for some time now ...

like the kinda coach that calls a timeout after an interception (no, i still havent let that go) and the kinda coach that doesnt know the instant replay rules or how many challenges he gets or the procedures regarding challenging a play last year in the sugar bowl ... lol yeah i agree ... i would like to see someone who has control but still knows how to have fun with the players .. i realize that is hard to find but .. would be nice i think
