Young guy (only 35)

Defensive assistants under Kirby seem to be good program builders (Fran brown , dan lanning )

By all accounts he’s an excellent recruiter

I think we could do much worse… but I’d rather see a great offensive mind at the head coach position in this day and age. I wouldn’t melt if we hired Schumann… but I wouldn’t be jumping for joy either so it’s kind of meh?

Personally, I would be jumping for joy. But I'm old and half-drunk so I wouldn't jumping very high. More of a hop, really.

All I know is UGA fans want him fired, and last time we hired a coach the fans wanted gone, it didn't go well

Fair enough. I get it with Schumann, like I say, I wouldn’t hate it or think it was bad. It would be a logical hire to make if your first tier options didn’t work out. I just feel like offense is the way to go at this point. Defense is getting harder and harder with the way the rules are shaking out so you have to be able score, and even Georgia is struggling on defense with Kirby at the helm.

DC. Yes. Head Coach. Frick No! Will all you "Lovers of Mediocrity" with low standards please stop spewing out names of coaches without any proven HC experience at the major college level.

Like Day, Smart, Lanning, Lashlee and Dabo when they got their jobs?

Yeah those guys really suck.

No offense, but that’s a bad take if you think coaches absolutely have to have HC experience. They don’t. Is it preferred?… Sure. But to claim people are idiots for eyeing coordinators is just silly.

Jimbo had no HC experience when FloridaSt hired him. Add him to my above list. Going back a little further, hell add Bob Stoops.

6 of the last 12 national championships were won by schools that hired a HC with no prior HC experience.

A lunatic fringe wants him fired. They also want Stockton benched in favor of the backup.

That's funny, considering we got the most experienced HC in college football this last hire. There aren't many coaches that meet your criteria and it makes for a short list to find the right coach. I'm not advocating to hire Schumann, but this attitude of hiring a coordinator ready to make the jump being "beneath" LSU is fricking stupid.

So UGA fans are the same as LSU fans, fire a coach and play the backup QB.
