For those that remember, in detail, Jimbo leaving FSU for A&M: was the timeline similar?

I don’t remember when in that season things started to heat up.
I do remember FSU fans absolutely scoffing at the idea of a coach leaving mighty FSU for Aggieland. Sound familiar?

I remember kicking A&Ms arse at Tiger Stadium and an Aggie telling me it was ok because they would get Jimbo.
I think it was announced right after that. Should come after the last game or conference championship if OU makes it.

Jimbo's personal life was a wreck, everyone was discussing his now ex-wife's BBC subscription and he was noticeably unhappy in Tally. Everyone with any sense knew he was getting out

Jimbo was on the outs with the FSU admin before the 2017 season even started and he had been publicly humiliated by his Ex-Wife in 2016 in their divorce proceedings.

Sumlin was fired on Nov 17th, Jimbo was hired on Dec 1st.
It did come out that Woodward had been in contact with Jimbo after the TAMU vs. UCLA collapse that year, so the process was already in motion.

Also there was a lot of discussion about his frustration with a lack of program investment. It was true, FSU had been cheap and he was pissed
