Well I haven't seen LSU get mentioned on any of the recent "best facilities" lists. And I would know, as an Aggie those lists are like moral victory candy.
yah, i'd imagine they consider the oregon/bama/a&m, etc facilities to be A+...LSU's got a little catching up to do in that department

We have a new weightroom and all but the bar has been raised by some of these new facilities that are being built around the nation.

This. Our facilities are nice, but they're a step behind a lot of schools.

ETA: Egg, you're right. A lot of our structures were built in/around the Saban era. We just need a facelift here and there.

you laugh but they aren't doing their job properly if you don't at least ask. Likely? Of course not

Well it'd be foolish to not inquire on Saban. Best coach in the game, former LSU coach. Never hurts to ask and have him tell you no, rather than just assuming he'd say no.

I don't see the issue with kicking the tires on basically every big name guy.

This. I realize those laughing are just trolling, but in a search like this, you put out feelers everywhere if for nothing else than memorializing due diligence.

You don't even start off by asking directly in situations like this.

The problem is it gets out that you settled on a fourth choice.

when does a friendly call become a choice though?

i was under the impression that nothing's a choice until the offer is made.

that's why they don't make offers until they're reasonably confident they'd accept

See my post immediately preceding yours.

I lol at those of you that think LSU has a list with names labelled 1,2,3, etc. and calls the first one asking "u want me?" As if this is some hunt for a prom date.

Taking away the other reasons Saban wouldn't come back, he's ripping LSU a new one for how they handled Les.

I think we can wipe his name off the white board.

What has Saban said?

I can write something much more believable if you want?? Anything that mentions Saban as a realistic target is not believable. Saban is going to finish his career at Bama and everyone knows it.

the article didn't mention anything about saban being a realistic target, only to gauge interest. heck, doesn't every school gauge interest with impossible candidates?

Saban turns 65 this month. How much longer does he have? 5 years?

Hmmm. Saban could come back to LSU, coach 3-5 more years, win a championship, and ride off into the sunset with one more turnaround project.

It would be stupid of our administration to not gauge the interest of any and every top HC out there (which is why I'm not sure how Stoops made the list).
