Dallas should hire bill Obrien right now. He is a great coach with lots of pro experience. He is also a good leader and not an idiot like Jason garrett.
The second choice should be mike Zimmer but I don't think Zimmer would come back to work for that circus.

Why exactly are some of you saying that Miles is much more likely? If you are saying that Miles is not a control freak, then you must not know Miles very well. And why would Jones hire another coach that is known for time management issues? He might as well keep JG.

He's wired a bit differently and seems to like his down time with his family. The jobs that I thought he might want were Michigan and/or Colorado (where he had a personal history)

I wouldn't work for Jerry Jones if I was Saban or any other big coach.
He would have to offer Saban 20 million/5 year firm to get him on the phone. Hell If I was Saban I'd still turn it down. The cowboys r a dumpster fire with Jones at GM.

I can't think of an NFL team that would be a worse fit for Saban than the Cowboys. Maybe the Jets, but they at least have a solid defense. Cowboys have a meddling owner, outsized media attention. salary cap issues and middling talent.

I'm trying to think of what the stat is, but the Cowboys are a .500 team since they last won a playoff game. You look up "middling" in the dictionary and you see a Cowboys helmet.
I do agree with you in that Saban doesn't enjoy the NFL. He's said that The Process doesn't really work in the NFL. I don't see any circumstance in which he goes back to the pros.

His first season with the Dolphins begs to differ. 9-7 is a winning record, especially when you take a 4-12/last place in division team to 9-7 and 1 game out from winning the division.
Saban, much like Pete Carroll needed time to really understand what it would take as a HC in the NFL and know how best to turn things around.
I honestly think if he went back now, he'd be able to do significantly better. He got screwed in 2006 with the team's doctors nixing any chance at Brees and settling on Culpepper. His team had a horrible start in 2006 at 1-6 and then went 5-1 to get to 6-7 on the season until they blew their last 3 games after all the Bama drama started unfolding.
Teams have down years. Belichik was 36 and 44 at Cleveland with 1 winning season, and 1 playoff appearance. His record in his first 2 years was 13 and 19, which was worse than Saban's first two at Miami.
Heck Belichik even started 5-11 in his first year at NE before winning the Super Bowl the next year.
People really overblow Saban's "failure in the NFL".

Difference there is that Spurrier was a guy that ran a college style of offense.
Saban, much like Harbaugh and Carroll, runs an NFL style offense and defense. No matter what people want to say, Saban isn't as awful a potential hire as many believe.
