Feels like OM is just making moves to "hurt" LSU as opposed to making the best hire.

Frank as an NO recruiter has been above average.

Frank as an rb coach is really underwhelming.

He would bench the hot hand rb constantly for seemingly no reason. Our backs regressed more often than they progressed. I mean what the hell happened to Durham?

Why was Harlem on the bench for so long?

Very odd hire by them. I get we werent retaining him but this is just "haha got you LSU". Theyre like kids

Pete was Frank's DC when Frank was the head coach at UTSA. This isn't just a random hiring to spite LSU. Frank had a number of offers, including Texas and Florida State.

Texas

This makes perfect sense. LSU and Texas have a LOT of recruiting battles. Id melt if he went to Texas.

Ole Miss..not exactly.

they aren't hurting LSU.

they know these guys are available, because LSU is taking theirs.

Frank at Texas would be a bigger threat. It’ll be harder to convince a NO kid to go to Oxford.

Then Ole Miss may be in trouble if they hire him as HC.

He did lead UTSA to their first ever bowl game.

The intent behind the Frank hiring is his relationship with HS coaches in NO. They want to prove to their ex that they can get top tier talent without him, and he left for no reason. Its like when you and your girl break up she starts giving a shite about how she looks, she starts dieting and makes sure she is dressed up everywhere she goes just in case she sees you.

I always feel like the reality of the situation is somewhere in between what the two fan bases like to think

Louisiana has a ton of talent that LSU forgoes that go to major schools and Frank may very well clean up, but I’m not worried about the top tier guys.

I’ve also listened to some ole miss podcasts and they are under the impression Lane offered Frank nothing. Lane offered Frank an admin role, something he actually thrives in. But Frank wanted a position coach title and the drama started. Frank is an awful RB coach and completely agree with Lane not giving him that title.

TLDR Frank is overall a good hire but he’s not as elite as ole miss thinks nor is he as useless as LSU wants to believe

I think they may already be in trouble being they panic-hired Pete Golding as permanent head coach.

They seem really eager to hire folks from an organization that got their head coach fired. It’s weird.

Frank and Thomas at Ole Miss, Brandon Harris & Juluke at Texas, Roberts at Arkansas, Sumrall at UF, and A&M next door…it seems that this cycle a lot of dilution to the personnel that has ties to Louisiana happened. We will see quickly if this changes the dynamic of how well we do to keep in state talent home.

Regarding Coach Frank specifically. Hats off to you, and good luck at Ole Miss.

They promoted their DC to HC.... they're absolutely not using any rational thought in their decision making process.

They can have our washed up sloppy seconds.

Frank didn't get fired from McNeese. He left there to take the LSU job when BK got here.

Im sure BK and Sloan had more to do with benching Berry. Why wouldn't Frank want his #1 rated RB and recruit, on the field more?

Frank was not being retained by LSU, Frank needed a job and was available, Pete was his DC at UTSA, this doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out

If we win it doesn’t matter who Frank Wilson is. A kid will want to play for its home team if they are top 5 year in and year out so go win Lane and we good!
