I’m in a Facebook group that discusses college football. Had a guy arguing me down all day after I said LSU is a top 5 job in th country and that If LSU offers Riley would be crazy to not come here. He got absolutely butthurt and started a poll in the group to prove me wrong. Poll results came back so far at 61%. 240 votes for LSU
38% OU 151 votes

Dude still arguing that the majority is wrong and he’s right.

Just thought y’all might like to see the results this group is made up of cf fans of all diff schools.

Why torture yourself like that?

And OU is a better job:

- easier path to the playoffs
- cheaper/better quality of life in Norman/OKC vs BR
- fan base that doesn’t demand the HC be fired every 3 and out
- more stable university culture (AD has been there 20+ years)

Last 4 Recruiting Cycles:

Louisiana: 56 four/five star recruits

Oklahoma: 24 four/five star recruits

OU will be in sec possibly as early as next season. Their easy schedule and path to playoff is over. LSU is setup to win in sec as they always have more than OU

Currently OU is the better job

3 straight playoff berths
Easy path to a conference title
Multiple Heismans
No known investigations
Norman is a fantastic college town
Long line of revered coaches (Wilkinson, Fairbanks, Switzer, Gibbs, Stoops, Riley)
Lowest ranking since 2014 - #6

I would not say Gary Gibbs is revered. But your point is taken. LSU since Cholly Mac has been more like a petulant child with its coaches.everyone here looks at the Saban era as this golden age of possibility. Prior to 2003 he was averaging almost 4 loses a season and 2004 was 4 loses....overall not any better than what Les Miles had AND I can remember people bitching about Saban before 2003 and during the 2004 season....especially when it came to who should be starting at QB. People thought Saban was being stupid for not starting and keeping Russell throughout the season.

So how to grade such things?

Facilities? Top 5
Monies? Top 5
Talent/Area? Top 5
Atmosphere/Stadium? Top 5

Only argument against would be "overall" prestige since the 1800s.

In my opinion, most of what you posted is not relevant as to which job is better.

Are Nebraska and Miami better jobs considering they have easier paths to the playoffs and have been dominate at times historically?

This argument is just an exercise in futility. One of the worlds richest men defines the value of something as what people are willing to pay for it as opposed to what it appraises.

In other words the question will answer itself when it is filled and you see what comes. Until then nobody knows...
